Lining up against the newly formed Thunder team, the Tornadoes found it quite hard to get in to any sort of early rhythm.
However, as the game progressed, the boys started to make some inroads. Undoubtedly not having George was a big miss, as his running and energy always give us a good platform from which to mount attacks. Therefore it was really encouraging to see Bailey and Eddie filling in brilliantly.
As the game progressed the midfield really started to dominate and I can honestly say that in both halves we had the lions share of possession and created the most chances.
Once again Jack was extremely steady and kept his concentration well, despite long periods of inactivity. His kicking from his hands was also spot on!
Dylan and Colin with Bailey assisting were imperious. I must say that I thought Bailey had a fantastic game filling in, in defence, when needed and providing great energy in midfield too!
Further up the pitch, Logan did some fantastic runs up the right wing, especially in the first half, and he sniffed out a goal in the second.
Martin, Josh and Stewart all combined really well together, particularly in the second half when they started to improve on their passing.
However, the biggest plus point for me and Richard was the performance of Eddie. He really got involved in the game. His tackling was tigerish, he also controlled the ball really well and moved it on very quickly to a team mate. It was good intelligent team play from Eddie and we were all delighted to see him get his rewards, when he slotted home from just outside the area. An excellent finish from a rapidly improving player.
Therefore, Richard and I had no hesitation in awarding Eddie the MOTM award.
Also on the score sheet with Logan and Eddie, were Stewart and Josh with a brace apiece.
All in all a cracking days work. Well done Boys, keep it going!
