Saturday 30th March, Beech Farm, KO 12pm, Supplementary Cup.
Having scraped past our opponents so many times this season, with narrow victories in the league, I suppose it was inevitable that the tables would be turned against us in the Cup.
Sadly that did come to pass and we've paid the price.
Unfortunately, I missed out on this game so I can only file a very basic report.
We played great in spells, with Josh, Bailey and Martin all finding the net. And although we did well to pull it back to 3-3, and the boys deserve credit for that, we were poor at times defensively. Apparently the passing and movement off the ball also left a lot to be desired at times.
But the biggest concern was the unwillingness of some to think and play as a team and that isn't going to help us in our progression as players.
So, Richard and I will continue to work as best we can with the boys. They're a great bunch of lads and we really want them to do well and achieve something.
Therefore, we'll re-group and take on our next cup opponents on Sat 6th April, whilst hoping that we can negotiate that hurdle, along with some other team doing us a favour!
MOTM was George for a tireless and unselfish display. A great example to everyone!
