- TORNADOES V ABRAHAM MOSS BLUE
Saturday 4th January, Beech Farm, League, KO 12pm.
The Tornadoes kicked off 2020 against a formidable Abraham Moss outfit. And to say that it was a tough encounter, would be no exaggeration!
Although I wasn't in attendance, Richard and Wayne reported back that the boys really struggled to make any headway.
Our opponents looked very classy, as they passed the ball around very comfortably, carving out numerous chances, plenty of which they converted.
In mitigation the Tornadoes were missing several key players and coupled with a large degree of ring rustiness, we were never really in contention.
Despite this though, Richard and Wayne were still disappointed with the application of some of the lads, along with the scatter gun, or in some examples non-existent passing.
All in all a bad day at the office, in which, despite playing a team at a higher level, we really should've acquitted ourselves a lot better. It's not like we haven't put in some good performances, against better teams earlier on in the season!
Josh converted from the penalty spot for our consolation goal and no MOTM award was handed out.
