A superb all-round display by Beechy Storm guaranteed a winning start following their first Division 2 fixture of the season. Recent new signings Tom Gilbert, Harrison Daniels, Joe Kelly and Rory Howcroft made their debut. Storm made a quick start soon putting Fielden Park under pressure and Evan Hodson-Griffiths with his first of his five goals opened the scoring. Keeper Tom Gilbert made his first real save before Beechy went 2-0 up when Evan was on target again the Oliver Lawton fired home the third goal. Dominating the game Storm produced some great attacking football and Rory Howcroft made it 4-0 just before half time. In the second half Evan completed his hat-trick via another great finish for goal number five and after good build up play Evan added the sixth goal. It soon became 7-0 thanks to Evan then Max O'Brien got in on the goalscoring act with goal number eight and though Fielden Park had limited chances the visitors managed to reduce the arrears. Joe Kelly with the first of his two goals put Beechy 9-1 up and after easily taking the ball past the keeper Rory made sure Storm hit double figures. Fielden Park were rewarded with their second goal then Joe rounded off the scoring from close range to make it 11-2.
