The Tornadoes were up against a Manchester Celtic side today who had scored double figures in almost every game this season, and would be promoted to the higher group after today, so we knew this would be a tough game.
The game was attack against defence throughout, every time we cleared our lines the next wave of opposition attack came. It did take Celtic around 10 minutes to open the scoring however, and they added two more before the break to lead at half time. A number of last ditch tackles, blocks, and a string of saves from the outstanding Beechy keeper Ty Dobson kept the score down. We had no chances to score in the first half.
The second half was exactly the same. We worked hard defensively but seemed to tire as the game went on. Celtic scored another five goals but it could have been more had it not been for Ty. Our only chance to score came when Dawood Fakeeh was played through and forced a good save from the Celtic keeper. Unanimous Player of the Match today was keeper Ty Dobson who saved us from a much heavier defeat. A bad day at the office but more competitive fixtures await in the next few weeks.
