Thunder took the away win in this pulsating end to end match with a great performance against Salford Storm, in perfect weather conditions to play football. The whole team played their part in some great attacking football all match. In the first 10 mins Thunder were two goals down but continued to play great football and not let their heads go down, eventually getting their rewards with a free kick just outside the box with an excellent, powerful strike from Roman Ashworth to make the game just a goal lead for Salford. With the match end to end Salford got a third but this didn't stop Thunder from playing well and next on the Scoresheet for Thunder was Aldo Gannon with a calm neat finish to get his team back in the game. Roman kept making battling runs and some great passing and movement from Player of the Match Ronnie Green helped Roman to get his second of the match, again with a wonderful finish. With the game all level Thunder kept producing and some excellent defending from Most improved player Freddie Tipton kept Salford at bay with Goalkeeper Raurie Brassington, yet again pulling off some incredible saves to keep Thunder in the match. Gideon James showed how much he is improving for the team with his strong defending and his strong running into the oppositions half, Jesse Fletcher again proving how valuable he is to Thunder winning the ball back on numerous occasions for his team and never giving up which helped our attack to get forward. This contributed to Aldo Gannons second goal of the match, again being in the right place to finish with a great goal to make it again a goal lead to the away team. Salford pulled a fourth goal back to make it level with two minutes left but yet again Powerhouse Gideon James went on one of his attacking runs to get the Winning goal just before the final Whistle. An incredible win for Thunder who showed character and determination not to give up on a great day of football, well done to all the boys today who never gave up and well done to all our trophy winners - Ronnie, Roman and Freddie
