*A full strength squad was available when THUNDER faced Oldham Community Panthers and a close game was expected. On the big 3G Pitch Thunder had a stiff breeze behind them in the first half. Beechy went 1-0 up when Matty Cox cut out a dangerous pass at the back and he moved the ball onto Devon Birkett who set-up Rafael Djacy and Thunder's leading goalscorer produced a superb finish. Both Henry Errington and Joshua Whitehead worked hard to win possession in midfield and Devon Birkett's header was controlled by Djacy and he hammered the ball home for 2-0. Beechy increased their lead with goal number three after keeper Oliver Dalton-Bunker aimed a long kick downfield and Djacy won the ball on the halfway line before sending it onto Rafa and he powered into the box before firing the ball beyond the keeper. Oldham Community reduced the arrears when they won a corner and though Beechy's keeper palmed the ball away a Panthers midfield player reacted the quickest and forced the ball into the net.
Despite 3-1 up at half time Thunder's players knew they still had plenty of hard work to do in the next forty minutes. A fourth Beechy goal arrived after Zach Davies forced a corner that was taken by Pedro and an effort by Djacy was blocked but Joshua Whitehead on the edge of the area hammered the ball home. A great footballing move produced goal number five when Rafa won the ball in midfield and Sophiyulah Bakare sent a neat pass to Pedro who's cross was met at the back post by Zach Davies and he completed the scoring. This was a dominant display from the Beechy Boys who fully deserved the winners trophy and their individual medals.
