Thunders first game of 2025 ended up with a defeat, with a depleted squad Thunder played majority of the game with only 5 players and not having a game for over a month because of the Christmas break and bad weather after Christmas, Thunder started the game very cagey and had a lot of defending to do in the first half. Urmston got the opening goal, once Thunder conceded they started to open up Urmston with fast passing and movement and started having chances in front of goal going close to getting a equaliser. Urmston got their second of the game on the counter but this didn't stop Beechfield going all out attack and just five mins before half time got there first goal of the match. In the second half Thunder started the game strong and kept creating chances and kept working hard in defence and attack but as Urmston made substitutions through the second half Thunder were unable to stop Urmston getting the next goal but Thunder replied with a goal of there own straight away making the game much closer. The final five minutes where very tough and with the boys starting to get tired but not stopping until the final whistle Thunder ended up with a defeat, the game overall was end to end and both teams played well.
The coaches decided to give Player of the Match to George Lawson Jesse Fletcher Raurie Brassington Zac Vaughan Ronnie Green ⚽️ Aldo Gannon ⚽️ The boys played as a team and worked tirelessly all way through the match.
