More rain forced a few Junior/Youth teams to move their home fixture to 3G/4G pitches or their opponents pitch to guarantee the game went ahead.

SDFL RED GROUP UNDER 8S
*BEECHFIELD UTD THUNDER 7 v Stretford Victoria Albion 4

A strong performance from Thunder who dominated the game all match, constantly putting pressure on Stretford. Goals from Roman Ashworth with a Hat-Trick, Ronnie Green, Parker Haworth, Freddie Tipton & Aldo Gannon. A strong performance from the whole side who again worked hard all match and controlled the passing and link up play, was the best so far this season, special mentions to Roman and Freddie who completely dominated in the middle up front and right wing all game and Player of the Match George Lawson who on the day just showed a lot of class in defence, clearing up any loose balls, strong in the tackle and not letting anybody past him. Was a worthy winner today, again the Thunder boys are showing how good the performances can be in a really strong Red Group. Credit to the boys, was great to see the boys enjoy that win Today.

Beechfield in Complete Control on a Cold Winter Morning

On a cold, winter morning, Beechfield once again delivered a performance marked by total control from start to finish. It didn’t take long for the scoreboard to tilt in our favor — this time thanks to an unfortunate own goal, as a defender attempted to play the ball back to his goalkeeper and sent it straight into the net.

That early goal only fueled Beechfield’s energy. The boys played with enthusiasm and confidence, and soon William found Jude with a perfectly timed pass. Jude finished calmly and clinically to make it 2–0. Minutes later, Alvin recovered the ball, carried it all the way up the pitch, and finished with authority, closing the first half with Beechfield firmly ahead 3–0 — but the story was far from over.

The second half began with some tactical changes. Alvin stepped into goal, Harry moved out as the lone defender, Jude and Caspian worked the wings, and Samuel led the line as striker.

Right from the restart, Jude and Caspian pressed relentlessly, breaking up attacks and turning recoveries into forward momentum. The goals soon followed. Samuel opened the second-half scoring after winning the ball himself, driving forward, and firing home to make it 4–0.

Alvin then took stage. With excellent ball control and perfectly timed recoveries, he added two more goals, pushing the score to 6–0. On one attacking move down the left flank, Alvin slipped a beautiful through ball to Samuel. The first shot was saved, but Samuel reacted quickest to the rebound and buried it with power.

The final goal of the match was fittingly scored by Alvin, sealing a dominant 0–8 victory for Beechfield.

A match defined by intensity, versatility, teamwork, and confidence — another outstanding step forward for this group.

MOM (Man of the Match):
Alvin — Outstanding performance today, a constant menace throughout the match. He also volunteered to cover the goal during the first 10 minutes of the second half, showing leadership and team-first mentality.

Parents’ Player:
Caspian — Never stopped running, constantly looking for the ball, and always willing to pass and support his teammates. A tireless and selfless display.

*BEECHFIELD UTD U12 TORNADOES 1-5 Boothstown U12 Hornets (Cup Match)

We switched the match today to Boothstown due to the waterlogged Beech Farm pitch. Boothstown scored early in the first 5 minutes with a freak of a shot which crashed into their player and looped over our first half keeper Grayson Evans's head, he had no chance. We struggled to recover from that early doors and conceed 2 more soft goals and were 3-0 down. Slowly we got back into the game, Jayden Lowe and Dawood Fakeeh working the ball into promising positions and had half chances but were often flagged offside. Half time 0-3, Boothstown worthy of their lead.

We lost Ryan Cordingley who was injured and unable to continue so were down to a bare 9 players in the 2nd half. We switched keepers with Jayden Lowe going in goal and Grayson going up top. We made a tactical switch pushing Alex McGrory further forward and the team played much better in ther 2nd half, there was little in the game, we created some great chances. Grayson hit a sweet left foot effort inches wide with the keeper stranded. Alex hit another rocket which the Boothstown keeper somehow saved low down to his right. It wouldn't go in. The 4th goal was key and Boothstown got it when a long range effort struck the post and fell kindly to their striker for an easy tap in. Shortly after they scored a penalty to make it 5. We finally got the goal our 2nd half performance deserved when Grayson burst through, took it round the keeper and finished well, but it was just a consolation in the end. Final score 1-5, but a much better performance after the nightmare first 10 minutes.

Player of the match between three, Aidan Thompson was tenacious and was part of some good passing moves, similar to Alex McGrory who was at the heart of everything 2nd half in midfield. But player of the match went to Ty Dobson, who has been playing outfield recently and is improving as a defender, he won many tackles and duels today and started off many of our attacks. We go again next week! ⚽️

A tough outing for the Tornadoes this week coming up against a well organised side, plenty of positives still with a MOTM performance from Cormac keeping the score in single figures, luck wasn’t on our side today with plenty of chances created but being saved or slightly wide. Proud of the resilience of the team even though the game had gone to still press on and create chances.
