Winton Wanderers Ospreys v U9 Hurricanes (Away)
Saturday 17th March 2018 (10.30am)
Cleveleys Playing Fields #4, Blantyre Street, Eccles, M30 8HY
Referee: Pete Latham

Won: 2-0 (HT 1-0)
Goals: Presley Smith
MotM: Presley Smith

The Hurricanes lined up for their first Supplementary Cup group match, in their first game for 3 weeks after a number of games and training sessions were postponed due to pooe weather condtions. The last meeting between these two teams saw Beechfield win 3-2 in the second game of the season, to secure their first away win. However, this game was a very different proposition with blizzard-like conditions as the players battled against snow and strong winds throughout!

The first half was a scrappy affair was the weather affecting both teams and the pitch becoming increasingly difficult to play on. As the game wore on, the Beechfield players seemed to cope slightly better and managed to squeeze into a narrow lead as Presley Smith slotted home towards the end of the first half.

The second half was an equally tense affair, with some increasingly robust challenges going in and a strong refereeing display was required from Pete Latham to ensure that both teams competed fairly. Again it was Man of the Match Presley Smith who proved to be the Beechfield hero as he coolly fired home again to double his tally for the game, and secure an important away win for the Hurricanes.

After the game, manager Ben Robinson said "Well done the boys today, they’re not a bad team Winton. Well done Prez for MotM and thanks to Pete for refereeing!".

The Hurricanes squad for the match was: Oliver Dalton-Bunker, Joshua Whitehead, Jamie Maher, Alfie Latham, Oliver Hall, Matthew Elliott, Dillan Caldwell, Jaiesh Devani-White, Presley Smith, Daniel Robinson, Sean Cosgrove.
