Typhoon 9-0 Little Lever Jrs

Mossbank forfeited our cup game and we managed to arrange this friendly at short notice.
Little Lever are from the division below us but you wouldn’t have known it from their first half performance and we were indebted to Peter for one great save and several other good ones to stop us going behind. As the game wore on, Typhoon started to grow into the game and started doing everything we’d asked of them and were rewarded by Jamie putting us one up by the break.
The second half was a masterclass. The passing of the team has been coming on leaps and bounds but was up another level today. Their manager really complimented us on our passing triangles and clinical finishing, which he thought was the difference between the two sides and our respective divisions.
We offered them the chance of playing with an additional man but this was declined as we were to be a benchmark for them.
There was a hat trick for Reece including a corner that went straight in, two and a couple of assists for Will who ran their defence ragged and goals also for Milonga, Sonny and Daniel.
It was interesting that some of the boys noticed how Little Lever started arguing amongst themselves, which was the point it started to go very badly for them.
Everyone put in a great performance, Reece and Will ran MoM Peter very close. A hat trick and clean sheet are equally rare but the improvement in Peter’s confidence with his passing was startling, he looked like Ederson, distributing passbacks to his defence to allow us to regain pressure.

On the cup front, we’re up against Flixton, another Section E team in the next round.
