Moorside Rangers Blue 1 - 4 Typhoon

A glorious morning to be back on Beechfarm for a derby. This match was the fourth time we’ve played Moorside this season, we strolled the previous friendly yet only took a point out of the two league games. This friendly we won at a canter, so why were they so hard when it mattered most?
Daniel scored from close range early on to settle the nerves and we went further ahead with a goal from Will, running onto a through ball. We were comfortably the better side and it was a bit of a surprise when they pulled one back. We needlessly gave away a free kick that was dispatched expertly, giving a rather under employed Peter no chance.
Excellent work from Joseph stopped any chance of a Moorside comeback, he ran down their keeper and then slotted the ball into the corner.
The second half was all Typhoon and allowed us to try a few things such as Ryan L getting a go at left wing and in the midfield. We just added one more goal through Will’s second although Ronan could have added a bit of gloss but couldn’t quite convert a couple of late chances.
All in all it was a very good, composed performance, my one criticism would be that once again we didn’t get the goals our dominance deserved.
Man of the match was Liam, he’s slotted into the squad excellently and he gave a display of determined defending and with calm and purposeful passing.
