*THUNDER made a bright start on the hosts Astroturf Pitch and despite looking dangerous going forward Beechy left themselves open at the back. With their first attempt Hazel Grove took the lead but Thunder fought back as they searched for a quick equaliser. Beechy keeper and Man of the Match Oliver Dalton-Bunker produced a superb one-handed save as an Hazel Grove player was ready to celebrate a goal. The hosts doubled their lead with a simple headed goal then the Hazel Grove keeper was forced into action making a brilliant save following a free kick by Joshua Whitehead. After Thunder's best spell of possession they were caught on the counter-attack yet again and Hazel Grove went 3-0 up.
Looking for a massive improvement in the second half Beechy were victim of a bizarre decision when the referee pointed to the penalty-spot after the ball had been blasted at a Thunder's players hand from point blank range. From the spot-kick Hazel Grove led 4-0 but Beechy continued to attack non-stop and deserved at least one consolation goal. A great effort by Sophiyulah Bakare deserved a better finish when his powerful strike struck the top of the crossbar.
