Included in several winning results on Saturday 28th October 2023 was another victory for Beechy Under 9's Storm who produced a star-studded all-round performance in their latest Salford and Districts League fixture.

*At Beech Farm the Under 9's STORM were at home to neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellows and on a pitch where the grass was long and wet playing free flowing football wasn't going to be an easy task but the Beechy Boys who are flying at the moment made a fine start in this Red Group game. Bobby Lowe scored four early goals and Kade Doyle who also got in on the act with a couple of goals linked-up well together. The passing on show from Storm was really good and very positive while Alfie Heighway and Harry Heathcote (1 Goal) battled well in midfield winning the ball back on almost every occasion. An own goal made up Beechy's tally and sharing the Man of the Match award were Bobby Lowe and Kade Doyle.

*Playing their second game in the Challenge Tournament were Beechy Under 11's TORNADOES (9V9) who after losing their first game on penalties were determined to put on a good performance against Prestwich Cobras. Recent games between the teams have always been close and in this fixture the Tornadoes conceded an early goal. But Beechy soon kicked into gear and as they dominated the game Luke Bennett stepped up and bagged four goals and Oliver Vernon who was playing in an advanced role got two goals via long range shots. Kian Murphy is the teams energy on the left hand side playing as a winger and full back and he was on target for the Tornadoes with a couple of goals. The Tornadoes final goal went to Sideque Eltomseneen who hadn't scored for the team before and it was amazing to see his teammates supporting him in the celebrations plus it was a proud moment for Beechy Manager Ryan Pugh. Sideque normally plays as a defender but in this game he went upfront and didn't disappoint. This was one of the Tornadoes best performances of the season so far and earning himself Man of the Match was Luke Bennett.

*in their away fixture against Stockport Villa the Under 7's STORM made a slow start and as they struggled to get into the game conceded the opening goal. But Beechy pushed hard for an equaliser and drew level through a goal by Charlie Sykes who bundled the ball home from close range. The contest was a closely fought affair and during a breakaway move by the hosts that included some great passing Villa regained the lead after Storm failed to mark one of Villa's dominant players. Stockport Villa added a third goal in a similar fashion scoring from point blank range that left Beechy goalkeeper Isaiah Austins with no chance. Suddenly Storm sprung into life when they created the move of the game with some excellent passing and movement starting with Isaiah then Ralph Cassiy who played the ball across the pitch to Henry Charles who raced down the wing before sending it onto Alfie Robinson and it took a goalline clearance to stop the ball from finding the net. Just before half time a fantastic finish by a Villa player resulted in the hosts taking a three goal lead at the break.

However Storm are famous for their recovery powers and in the second half Beechy produced an excellent fightback. Now operating as an outfield player Isaiah Austins scored after a blistering run and finish then Charlie Sykes produced a mazy individual run past two opponents and his composed finish reduced the arrears to just one goal. The game swung from one side to the other and Beechy's goalie Ralph Cassidy deputisingg in an unfamiliar position was unlucky with three Villa close range finishes. Storm's additional goals came via a brace from Isaiah Austins and Alfie Robinson who completed Beechy's scoring with a fine finish after excellent play betwen Isaiah and and chief creator and captain Henry who caused problems for Villa on the wing. All in all a great game though some clear improvements from a defensive side needing to be made by Storm. Man of the Match was Ralph Cassidy for his all-round great play in defence, good passing and positioning on the pitch.

*Beechy Under 8's THUNDER who were away against Parkwyddn Hawks made a strong start in this Red Group game when they raced into the lead within a minute with a goal by Jude Bond who cut in from the left flank. The goals flowed in the first half as Antonio Enbalo reacted to score after Harrison Spencer's shot had been saved then Jude Bond netted Thunder's third and his second goal a carbon copy of his earlier strike. Harrison Spence put Beechy further ahead with his deserved goal when he fired the ball into the top corner of the net before Parkwyddn Hawks reduced the arrears prior to half time. The second half produced a more evenly balanced game and Chase Sixsmith was on target for Thunder before the Hawks scored again. Oscar Spencer created a great second half defensive display but Man of the Match went to Harry Wright who played in several positions during the game all with great success.

*Away at AFC Urmston Meadowside Sharks the Under 8's STORM were involved in a mini-soccer game that included lots of good football and ten goals. Beechy's seven players for this Salford and Districts League fixture were Rocky Linehan. Corey Davies, Jacob McLoughlin, Charlie Schofield, Alfie Garner, Sonny Cox and Jude Aimson.

*Facing a tough task in their Challenge Tournament away game with Parkwyddn Predators were Beechy Under 10's TORNADOES. The hosts controlled the game throughout and produced a winning result which could have been worse for Beechy if not for the amazing efforts of their goalkeeper James Hardman who was exceptional. Looking to put this result behind them the Tornadoes will focus on their next game against Deans Youth Sports.

*Expecting a tough sixty minutes away at De La Salle the Under 12's THUNDER (9v9) started this Divison 4 game well and playing some excellent football dominated the contest as they kept their opponents pinned in their own half. But similar to previous games Thunder just couldn't find the net due to a combination of missed chances and fine goalkeeping and against the run of play De La Salle scored two goals following breakaway attacks. Right at the end of the first half some great play by Ajab Fakeeh set-up Jacob McGoff who's effort was cleared off the line but Theo McNulty was in the right place and he fired the ball home to reduce the arrears. During the first quarter-hour of the second half it looked as if the Beechy players were still on the sideline and Thunder gifted De La Salle another three goals to lead 5-1 without reply. The rest of the half was more open but with no more goals from both teams despite an effort by a Thunder player hitting the crossbar.

*After three easy games the Under 13's STORM needed to step up a gear in their Division 1 away game at Old Trafford and Beechy did exactly that. The teams were evenly matched for the whole of the game but it was Storm who collected the three points courtesy of a 6-4 victory. There were two goals each for Timothy Badewa and Roman Sandaji plus a goal apiece by Ehiremen Ehijie and Etehadpoor Mohammadmatin. Beechy who did control the majority of the game meet their opponents again next Saturday in the Challenge Cup.

*At home again on Saturday morning were the Under 14's TORNADOES who were in action in the Salford and Districts League against Swinton Panthers. Despite taking the lead in this Division 2 fixture through Joshua Beddows the Beechy Boys just couldn't make their chances count and a couple of lapses at the other end saw the Tornadoes punished. Beechy who lost the game 2-1 were desperately unlucky overall but this was a good hard working and battling performance nevertheless.

*There was a nine goal thriller at Duchy Road Playing Fields involving Beechy Under 15's HURRICANES and Barr Hill Hearts and it was the Hurricanes who came out on top via a 5-4 victory. Beechy took the lead when a great through ball found Owen Hogben and his powerful strike left the keeper stranded then two minutes later Owen doubled the Hurricanes lead after another great pass from Alfie Rostron. Beechy were denied a certain penalty just before keeper Oliver Dalton-Bunker made a fine reaction save when he palmed the ball onto the crossbar following an effort by a Barr Hill forward from outside the area. After a period of pressure the hosts reduced the arrears but the Hurricanes regained their two goal advantage when Owen Hogben completed his hat trick. Early in the second half from a free kick Barr Hill got their second goal when a hosts striker scored from a rebound after a save by Oliver D.B. But Beechy responded superbly and immediately on the attack were rewarded with a fourth goal by Alfie Rostron who's brilliant effort from twenty five yards saw the ball dip over the keeper and into the net. Suddenly it was 4-3 after a free kick to Barr Hill was hit deep into the Beechy half and despite a hosts player caught in a offside position the referee awarded the goal. Barr Hill equalised from the penalty spot and though Oliver D.B. got a hand on the ball it found it's way over the line for 4-4. Once again the Hurricanes responded well and secured the win through Man of the Match Alfie Rostron who won possession on the left flank and his incredible effort produced a brilliant finish. This Salford and Districts Junior League Division 1 game created a crazy end to end second half with some great goals from both teams despite the referee's attempt to ruin it with several bizarre decisions.

*Still seeking their first win of the season in the East Manchester Junior League Beechy Under 15's THUNDER travelled for their latest Division 1 fixture against Dukinfield Youth Whites. Beechy who made a few changes found themselves a goal down in the first minute and dominating the early possession the hosts took a 2-0 lead. After a much better spell of play Thunder were hit on the counter-attack and Dukinfield added their third goal and Beechy heads went down slightly when they conceded two more goals in as many minutes. Thunder managed to reduce the arrears thanks to a goal from Temidayo Akintunde who fired the ball past the hosts keeper from close range. After the break Dukinfield increased their lead from the penalty-spot then Thunder won a penalty and Joshua Whitehead made no mistake drilling the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Beechy got another goal back after a horrible challenge on Rafael Djarcy won a free kick and Owen Hogben sent the ball towards the far post where Sophiyulah Bakare tapped it into the net. Dukinfield were reduced to ten players following a red card incident but the hosts responded with a seventh goal before Rafael Djarcy completed the scoring when positioned at the far post added an accurate finsh. Thunder's Man of the Match was goalkeeper Oliver Dalton-Bunker. Result Dukinfield 7 v Beechy Thunder 4.
