One of the best performances of the season as Storm produced a brilliant game of football.
Alfie started in net, familiar combination of Reggie and Reggie at the back, Jacob and Nathan in midfield with Reni drafted in for only his second appearance of the season with James on the wing.
Immediately storm looked like a team at it with brilliant “tiki taka” football in the oppositions final third. Reni consistently finding space on the right pinging it in - stinging the palm of the goal keeper.
The defence pressed high and Josh intercepted a ball, played it over the defence to Nathan who had all the time in the world to place it past the goal keeper.
Despite storms domination the Ravens showed that they can be dangerous - balls through with the faster strikers running on to saw Alfie come off his line twice to make big saves at the feet of the strikers.
Vincent came on competing extremely well throughout on the left and right at points, shrugging players off and with Yusha at the back was always looking for the pass.
However Storm were undone - losing possession cheaply and passive defending allowed Winton to pass through and get a goal.
There was a reaction as Nathan & James was regularly combining on the left though the final ball was just missing. Vincent popped the ball in with an acrobatic shot going over by James and when Nathan played it in had Reni a clear chance on goal though on the volley hit agonisingly over.
Storm had definitely been the better in the first half though had some clear instructions; get more shots off earlier, wingers to get in behind as were too static but keep the same concentration defensively and in attack - Storm stepped up and produced.
From the second half absolutely on the front foot - Reni testing the keeper again early on though through relentless pressure Nathan’s shots were parried with Jacob, aka Fox in the Box, in the right positions showing composure to finish not once, but twice from almost identical positions to extend the lead.
Pressing high, ball won by Jacob, playing back to Nathan who fed across to Reni who had overlapped and pinged a beauty into the top corner from the right - a goal that storm had seen 3 weeks earlier in a training match.
Storm continued to push; Reggie holding the defence like a prime John Terry saw James pick up the ball on the left, hold and then play a perfect through ball to Nathan who cut in from the left to finish for his second.
Nathan took his third goal as Reni returned the favour - Jacob playing through Reni on the right, swung the ball in and a deft touch from Nathan guided the ball into the bottom left.
Storm had a few corners and consistently playing short looking to fashion a chance. Some quick thinking saw James mix it up playing accurately into the box to an unmarked Nathan who took yet another goal.
Winton had very little though corners they had were expertly dealt with by Vincent in net -though they were undone. The slippy pitch which had seen a number of missteps be felled our defence as the attacker gained advantage on the right, playing in for another cheap goal.
Undeterred - storm continued to push with Alfie at target man playing off back to Jacob, playing through Josh who then was fouled on the edge of the box.. Josh stuck it with its power being too much for the goal keeper to take his goal.
A really accomplished, mature performance from storm who controlled the game with the gks (Alfie & Vince) gave the defence confidence with Yusha, Reggie and Josh all putting in brilliant performances, storm showed they wanted it more and played some of the best team football we have seen all season.

As voted by the players *Reni* took home the trophy. Despite playing two years up & only his second appearance for the storm Ren showed that this was not a step up. Encouraged to pass & move which is exactly what he did, a style which was clearly infectious to the rest of the team who followed suit. Scored the goal of the game and produced a brilliant assist.

The development of both these players has been nothing short of outstanding - *Jacob* voted by patents produced an exceptional second half, played a box to box midfield role well and his partner in crime *Nathan* who delivered 7 goal contributions out of 8 today thoroughly deserved his coaches player. *BEECHFIELD UTD TORNADOES 2. V. Urmston Meadowside 6....
A very poor start from the U/8's Tornadoes within the first ten minutes 2-0 down and the only time we crossed the halfway line was at kick offs...Urmston totally dominated the half..Third goal came off a short corner..Franklin made a couple of good saves to keep the score down.Zane tried his best at the back but was run ragged by the constant attacks from Urmston..We did manage a couple of our own ..Urmston scored a fourth just before halftime...
Halftime 4-0 down ..The referee allowed us to put an extra player on....
Told the boys at halftime that they were allowed to tackle the opposition...but straight from the kickoff Urmston added a fifth...Eric started to run with the ball Urmston were strong and put in some good tackles..Eric did manage to pull one back before he came off injured ...
We pulled another back from a corner...5-2 ...so no extra player allowed...Urmston did score again...We only had one sub today at 6-2 we didn't have an extra player available..Eric had to come off twice injured also Noah came off twice after some to be fair strong tackles from Urmston..Rocco also had a stint off the field. At one time we had only 4 fit players on the field...
No complaints from us though Urmston were just the much more physical team and well deserved winners....
Credit to the Beechy boys for sticking in there second half ....
I'll also add the Referee was excellent...
Beechfield Player of the Match was Gianluca who never gave up..👏👏

*BEECHFIELD UTD U/8's STORM v Moorside Rangers Green
Keeping their unbeaten run intact were Beechy U/8's STORM who were in action against local rivals Moorside Green. Following this entertaining Red Group 5v5 mini-soccer game Storm celebrated a 5-2 victory. Reni Haycock(3) and Archie Amos (2) scored the goals.

Boothstown FC 7 - 2 BEECHFIELD UTD U11's STORM (9v9)
Tough one today 😔.
I do think having no subs is really effecting the team and I’ve seen it over the last few weeks. For me the game today is one of them to just forget and move on. We were missing players and Alfie had to go off and we were completely out of shape once Alfie went off and the boys really struggled. But it was just a friendly and just forget it and move on now.
The season has ended now for us but we will be getting friendlies most weeks. Me and Ryan would like to start playing a couple of the new kids who are coming to training to see how they get on in matches and see if they can play to the ability that is required and also to give us more subs on match day. I do also want to try some players in new positions.
The way I see it now is to get this team set up over the summer and ready for next season by trying new lads in games and some new positions for some lads. We have great facilities for training and matches now going forward. Can everyone try their best to be at training on Tuesday. This is really important that all the boys are at training every week now over the summer.
So let’s all look forward to next season and the rebuild officially starts.

Good game this morning and I thought a draw was a fair result. 2-2. I thought we were the better side and played some lovely football.
Their coaches said the same.
We’ve shown we can compete with prem sides and the game ultimately comes down to fine margins, little errors.
Overall I’m happy with the lads. It was a good test and we played well. 2/3 touch is working..
First half we tried a different formation 4-2-3-1 and I thought it worked well and the lads adapted well. Second half back to 4-4-2.
Motm- went to Zach today. Best I’ve seen him play for a while. Broke up everything in midfield, used the ball really well and keeping it simple. Took his goal really well when he was upfront. Enjoying his footy! Very happy! 👏 ⚽️

Chris - relentless work rate off the ball and good quality on it. !Defenders nightmare! Nice finish for his goal! 💪
Charlie - cool, calm and collected. Our Rio! Fantastic performance today. Broke up play and pushed up when he could. Top player! 👌🏼

Beechfield had a tough challenge even before kick off with 4 of our players unable to make today’s game, the boys attending never let this stop them and their attitudes going onto the pitch was great to see.
Although we didn’t get the result we were hoping for the performance was class and really showed what our boys are made of.
Ellis made some great saves in the first half before coming out for the second half to score 2 goals, the goals were great and came from 2 assists from Amir who played the ball from the wing superbly, a goal from a corner again shows the boys are doing something right in a game and also on the training pitch.
All of the boys played in various positions today and trusted each other in unknown areas of the pitch, this shows character and how much they have gelled together this season.
MOTM- Kayden
Kayden came back into the team after an absence of a few months and from the first whistle he put everything he had into showing why he is a tornado. His passing, running and general presence to support the team was really impressive. Well deserved.
Although we didn’t win today, the result shows that even without a full strength squad we are a force to be reckoned with. If we had subs today I’m sure we would came away with a victory.

Stretford Victoria Albion 6 v BEECHFIELD UTD THUNDER 3
A tough away fixture against a big physical Stretford side who took the three points, Storm started the game brightly with there passing game controlling the match in there first half and defensively held there own three first half goals all wonderful finishes from Roman Ashworth Ronnie Green and Parker Haworth kept Stretford at bay but constant physical defending had taken its toll in the second half and Storm with all there efforts started to fall away after putting everything in to attack and defence a great competitive match from both teams played the right way with determination commitment and passion both teams trying to get the win plenty of positives from Storm holding the ball up and finding passes Player of the Match was Parker Haworth who was involved in a lot of Storm attacks but also played well in defence organising the team in the pitch and Coaches Player of the Match was Raurie Brassington some fine saves and tried getting his team on the move with a great kicking game in Goal.
A special mention to Gideon James who has been training with Liverpool FC and playing games on Saturday for the Under 8s making a huge impact so far👏

🏆 BRAVE PERFORMANCE AGAINST OLDER OPPOSITION
The match was played under perfect weather conditions against a all girls team 1 year older than our boys. The game was heavily affected by several absences, leaving Beechfield with only five players for almost the entire match, the starting lineup featured Harry in goal, Jaiden and William in defence, with Caspian and Samuel leading the attack.
The opening minutes were evenly balanced, with both teams trying to figure each other out. Beechfield also seemed slightly hesitant at first, adjusting to the challenge of facing an older girls’ team. Around the 7th minute, Boothstown U8 Leopards opened the scoring unexpectedly. Straight after the restart, Boothstown recovered the ball quickly and struck again with a powerful shot from near the halfway line to make it 0-2.
That seemed to wake Beechfield up. The response was immediate with two quick goals from Samuel:
The first came after he recovered a long ball sent forward by Harry and finished confidently.
The second followed a strong recovery from William, who played the ball into Samuel’s path for another excellent finish.
Boothstown regained the lead shortly after, but Samuel completed his hat-trick by reacting quickly to the goalkeeper’s restart, recovering the ball, and scoring again. Before half-time, Boothstown added two more goals, leaving the score at 3-5.
The second half became more of a midfield battle, with both teams competing strongly for possession. Once again, Boothstown took advantage of their opportunities and scored two additional goals.
A foul inside the Boothstown area gave Beechfield a penalty, which Caspian converted calmly and precisely, bringing renewed energy into the team.
From that moment, Beechfield pushed hard. Chances began to arrive constantly — some narrowly missed, others brilliantly saved by the Boothstown goalkeeper. Eventually, Samuel scored again to make it four goals for the day.
Beechfield continued attacking relentlessly, but late in the match a Boothstown player recovered the ball in defence, dribbled past several players across the pitch, and scored the final goal of the game, setting the score at 5-8.
The match was heavily influenced by the limited squad size, with the same five players battling through nearly the entire game. Special mention also goes to Jude, who bravely came on during the second half despite not feeling well, helping the team when they needed support most.

Caspian — an incredible work rate throughout the entire match, covering every area of the pitch, recovering possession constantly, and creating problems for the opposition all game long.
👨👩👦Parent Player of the Match
