Home game for the Thunder boys after the Easter break and we were looking to continue with winning ways. Thunder got off to a competitive start, Finley and Elliot finding early gaps down the flanks and fizzing in some great crosses towards Angelo and Declan lurking in and around the Urmston box. The lads were playing some lovely passes and controlling large parts of the play and Angelo nearly got Thunder off the mark with a great strike that came off the inside of the post and across the goal line, some say it went over the line but unfortunately no var to verify. José and Ralph came into the game and instantly made an impact with some great offensive play. José would put Thunder into the lead not long after with a great left footed finish on the half volley ⚡. Thunder keeping the pressure on Urmston found a second shortly after with Ralph finding a chance in on goal and slotting it past the Urmston keeper in style. Che was next to hit the target after some good running into the Urmston
half left him with a shot on goal that flew past the keeper.
Thunder in cruise control into the second half gave Urmston a lifeline when they managed to get there first goal. Che and José linking up well would lead to Thunder's fourth with José bundling the ball through Urmston's last man and finishing very well past the keeper. Urmston responded with there second after looking for a ball over the top which found there striker who finished well. Che looking to find a second was making some great runs and it paid off for him when he found a chance in the box to hit Thunder's fifth. Thunder well and truly cruising did let Urmston close the gap with a third goal and a referee's ghost fourth after the final whistle 👀. A comfortable performance for the lads in the end who were in control for long periods of the game and could of added a few more on another day ⚡.
Man of the Match - José, despite a late arrival he certainly had his Weetabix this morning, getting Thunder off the mark with a cracking first and later adding a second ⚡.
