**In the Bolton Bury and District League Beechy Under 13's TORNADOES endured a frustrating seventy minutes in the away game with East Leigh. In this Section B game the Tornadoes weren't at the races as they were second best to every ball. Beechy didn't play their usual passing game and couldn't get any form of momentum in the contest and East Leigh scored straight after each of the Tornadoes goals. Luke Bennett gave Beechy the lead with a nice goal but the Tornadoes were only briefly in control as they conceded far too many sloppy goals due to silly mistakes and slack marking. Man of the Match went to Thomas Ramsden the teams stand out performer who looked a real threat going forward and he scored from the spot after winning the penalty. Also on target for the Tornadoes who lost the game 7-3 was Max Blood.

Revenge Against a Strong Opponent
🎙️ Match Commentary
An electrifying match from start to finish on a sunny but cold morning. The team faced early nerves before kickoff as, by 9:00 am, the full squad had not yet arrived. With Jaiden and Julio arriving just minutes later, the team was finally able to start with the initial lineup: Jude in goal, Caspian and Jaiden in defence, and Julio and Alvin leading the attack.
The game began very evenly, with chances for both sides. Julio and Alvin created several opportunities up front, while Jude made key saves in goal to keep the score level and give the team confidence.
After about 10 minutes, the score was still 0–0, but once Samuel and William joined the play and the team returned to their successful attacking formation with three players up front and one in defence, the momentum began to shift.
The breakthrough came around the 12th minute when Samuel fired a powerful shot that the Winton goalkeeper managed to stop. However, the rebound fell perfectly for Alvin, who reacted quickly and placed the ball into the back of the net.
Just minutes later, Samuel produced a brilliant individual effort from the side line, dribbling past several opponents before scoring Beechfield’s second goal.
The third came soon after when Kevin, who had just joined the match, recovered the ball and passed to Alvin, who finished superbly to extend the lead.
Before the end of the first half, Winton fought back and scored two goals, closing the gap and sending the teams into half-time with Beechfield leading 3–2.
The second half started evenly again, but the first goal was for us, Julio finish a great ball after a corner delivered by Kevin.
Winton responded with another goal following an unfortunate misunderstanding between the defence and goalkeeper William, leaving the ball free for the Winton attacker to tap in.
Soon after, the Julio quick reaction for a kick-in finds Jude who dribbled past a defender and fired a strong shot to score Beechfield’s fifth goal.
Winton managed one final goal from a powerful free kick that found the back of the net, setting the final score at 5–4.
This was one of the team’s best performances so far, showing how much the players have improved both individually and as a group — especially against a team that defeated us 8–1 just a few months ago.
🏅 Man of the Match
Today it could have gone to almost anyone:
Samuel with a goal and assist.
Julio with a goal and assist.
Kevin with two assists.
Alvin scoring two goals.
Caspian and Jaiden solid in defence as a strong partnership.
Jude excellent in goal in the first half and scoring later in the match.
However, today’s trophy goes to William, who was a defensive wall in the first half and then delivered a fantastic performance in goal during the second half. Acting as a flying-keeper, he cut off several attacking opportunities from Winton, even outside the penalty area.

This week’s Parent Player award goes to Jude, who had an excellent game — strong in net during the first half, followed by great ball recoveries and a well-taken goal in the second half.

The Match Summary:
A Respectful Start
Before the action kicked off, both teams stood together for a poignant minute’s silence in memory of a Moorside Green family member who passed away the night before. It was a moment of pure class and sportsmanship from both sides, showing that while the game is competitive, the community always comes first. Storm also gifted the grieving goalkeeer with a hamper of sweets/chocolate and a card of sympathy which was a class touch. 👏 ❤️
The Match Summary
Once the whistle blew, Beechfield Storm put on an absolute masterclass in attacking football. With a final score of 14–6, the Storm's clinical finishing was the difference.
The defensive foundation was set by Jaxx, who was a rock at the back, allowing the wings to fly. Ezra, stepping up for the team in an unfamiliar role, put in a brilliant shift between the sticks. Despite not being a natural goalkeeper, Ezra pulled off several crucial saves that kept the momentum firmly in the Storm’s favor.
The Storm’s front line was unstoppable, with the goals shared across a deadly attacking unit:
Jett (5 Goals): A relentless performance, finding the net five times to lead the scoring.
Archie (4 Goals): Clinical upfront, leading the line with four fantastic strikes.
Louie (3 Goals): A superb hat-trick that kept the pressure on the Moorside defense.
Ollie (2 Goals): Providing the threat from the right, Ollie chipped in with a vital brace.
Player of the Match
Man of the Match: Louie While it was a massive team effort, Louie took home the honors. His work rate, vision, and hat-trick made him the standout player in a game full of stars.
On to the Challenge Cup quarters next weekend 😎⚽️

Flixton Raptors 3 v BEECHFIELD UTD THUNDER 3
Back to league fixtures after the Cup run against a strong Raptors side, a great performance from Thunder who only had the one Sub and just proved how capable they still are when players are missing Captain Roman Ashworth picked up Player of the Match in a strong display getting his side round the pitch and equally as good in defence Goalscorers Where Coaches Player of the Match Ronnie Green two whos non stop work and creating chances all match and Parker Haworth who came of the bench showing how good he was at holding the ball up and getting some great passes in to his teammates with the equaliser picking up a fully deserved point on the road, another workman like performance from Thunder who showed a lot of character to stay in the game right until the final whistle

**BEECHFIELD UTD TORNADOES U8s v Parkwyddn Predators

Parkwyddn Predators 3 – 1 Beechfield Tornadoes

First Half
Parkwyddn took an early lead, but the Tornadoes kept working hard.
Eric had a chance to equalise from the penalty spot but the effort went just wide.
Theo made a good save in goal.
The Tornadoes showed some nice teamwork with Eric and Franklin linking up, while Sergio made a strong run forward. Gianluca had a shot saved and also made an important block. The equaliser came when Sergio stepped up to take a penalty and scored confidently.
Theo’s long kick from goal was saved by the opposing keeper and Noah made a good run forward but was blocked. Parkwyddn managed to score again before halftime to go 2–1 ahead.
Second Half
Franklin made an early save in the second half and Zane produced a strong block to stop a shot.
Theo also had a shot saved as the Tornadoes pushed forward, but Parkwyddn added another goal.
Gianluca worked hard trying to create chances while Noah defended well. Sergio continued to make strong runs and there was some good passing between Sergio, Eric and Gianluca.
Eric came close with a good shot and Franklin made several saves in goal to keep the team in the game.
Rocco was awarded Player of the Match for listening to and following the coaches’ instructions going into the second half, showing greater focus as the game went on.
Overall, the Tornadoes showcased great effort and teamwork. The passing between players was a real positive. We go again next week!

Beechy Tornadoes put on an another elite and mature performance creating chance after chance and limiting their opponents to only one chance in the first half. Going in at half time 3-1 up the Beechy youngsters were in control.
A Deans onslaught ensured as they pulled another goal back, promising a comeback. Deans have comeback against the Tornadoes on two of the last three occasions. However the Tornadoes are continuously improving and the Beechy Boys pulled together and held out, thwarting the oppositions attacks and turning counter attacks into chances. The boys demonstrated they can play on the front foot and most importantly, when they work for their teammates they can achieve anything.
6 wins and a draw in the 9 games in 2026. A huge contrast to the first half of the season.

U9's Supplementary Tournament
BEECHFIELD UTD LIGHTNING 1 v Old Trafford Panthers 7
Beechfield Lightning exited the cup after a tough encounter with Old Trafford Panthers, in what proved to be a game of two very different halves.
The Lightning boys started the match slowly and were punished early by a sharp Panthers side. Within the opening ten minutes the Panthers had raced into a commanding 5–0 lead, capitalising on Lightning’s sluggish start and taking advantage of their chances.
As the half progressed, Beechfield began to find their rhythm. Angelo, Bodie and Finley started to move the ball well from the back, trying to build attacks and settle the team into the game. Further forward, Brayden, Ralph and Jayden worked hard to break through a strong and physical Panthers defence, made even more challenging by the long grass on the pitch.
Goalkeeper Bobby was kept busy during the first half and produced several important saves and clearances to keep the scoreline from growing further before the break.
The second half saw a much improved performance from Lightning. Freddie and Lukasz both made an immediate impact, helping the team push forward with greater energy and confidence as they searched for a goal.
Brayden began to dictate the play in midfield, controlling the tempo much like a prime Andrea Pirlo. His vision soon paid off when he delivered a Pirlo-esque through ball to the onrushing Ralph, who finished superbly to pull a goal back and get Lightning on the scoresheet.
Despite the improved display, the Panthers managed to add two more goals before the final whistle to secure a 7–1 victory and progression to the next round.
While the result was disappointing, Lightning’s second-half performance showed real determination and improvement, with plenty of positives and learning points to carry into their next match.
**Man of the Match:** Lukasz – calm and composed under pressure, contributing excellent passes and key interceptions throughout the second half. 👏⚡

Game of two halves where Storm played excellently in the second half and dropped off in the second but got over the line.
Team was Vincent in goal, Yusha & Reggie at the back, Nathan & Jacob in the middle with wingers James & Jose
Salford Storm looked to be starting the better as Beechy took too long on the ball losing possession. However, from a corner storm showed their incisiveness - Jacob recovered the ball, played Jose on the left wing who slotted James through whose pace and touch sent the ball past the goal keeper.
Now full of beans Storm started to put on the performance that we know they can as Nathan took the ball on the left bi line, played it across the box and James did a 1-2 with the cross bar finishing to the top of the goal with his left foot.
The game started to settle but Beechy still looked the stronger - ball being played into the middle by Josh, James battling through and deflecting a pass to Nathan who donning number 14 slotted the ball into the back of the net Thierry Henry style.
Salford did respond - Vincent having to deal with breaks and had one shot deflect off the post.
Alfie who was playing upfront had chances as ball came in and his volley agonisingly went wide. He did have involvement though as Nathan played Josh, Josh looking for a telescopic pass through to Alfie though it made its way, blindsiding the goal keeper into the back of the net.
Yusha and Reggie were solid at the back though Salford came close to a finish as their striker made his way past two and took Reggie making a last stitch tackle on the line.
Second half started & was very much disjointed from Beechifeld - providing Salford with chances from freekicks, shots wide and corners. The goal did come through mistakes from playing out the back leading to a goal for Salford to start to get back into it.
Storm did have chances, brilliant balls in from Nathan and Jose provided Alfie with volleys which again difficult to finish - Jacob looked the most lively with shots from outside the box saved and one agonisingly tipped onto the crossbar.
Playing out from the back can look pretty though here it counted against Storm - loss of possession saw the striker move into the box and a foul in the box provided Salford a real lifeline through a penalty - Vincent stepped up and made an excellent strong save reading the strikers positioning well.
Further pressure as Alfie now reverting to net had a brilliant acrobatic save from a corner looking destined to squeeze into the top corner.
However - it was the other goal keeper now turned striker to deal the decisive blow - the game closed out with Beechy on the ropes, Salford storm all forward and James playing a beautiful clearance pass to let Vincent free who steadied himself & striking the ball into the bottom right.
Strong recovery from last week and onto the final two cup games!!
MOTM:
Hasn’t played the last couple & it showed how much they’d missed him - captain for the day *James* deserved his MOTM - got two goals, two assists with the second being the critical one in the second half. All action performance.
Parents Player:
*Vincent* - made some quality saves, important atonement with his penalty save and came out with the decisive goal finished like a natural striker.
**Salford Storm U12 Tsunami 3-2 BEECHFIELD UTD U/12's TORNADOES
Today was our final game in the Supplimentary Cup. Whilst we knew we were almost certain to be knocked out bar a set of freak results elsewhere, we set out to win the game then our fate would be in the hands of the gods.
Yet again we were the better side in the early exchanges. Josh Green played Dawood Fakeeh through but Dawood shot inches over. Alex McGrory played in Josh who shot just wide before Josh had another attempt but his shot was saved. At the other end Salford were unlucky to hit the post and had a goal correctly ruled out for offside. Just before half time a fantastic mazy run from Josh saw his effort just saved. At half time the score was goalless for our 3rd game running, with Beechy on top.
In the 2nd half we had a corner taken by Ryan Cordingley from which there was a scramble and we forced about 5 shots before the ball broke to Josh who smashed home into the roof of the net to give us a deserved lead. Shortly after Josh was clean through but the ref blew for offside when he ran through from deep and was about 10 yards onside. Salford equalised shortly after with a low effort from the right, Ty Dobson in goal had no chance. Salford had a chance to take the lead shortly after but Ty saved superbly. The game was end to end and we again took the lead when Ryan Cordingley played Josh through on the right who held off the defender well and slammed home into the top corner, 2-1 to Beechy. Salford equalised again shortly after with a fortunate cross shot which flew right into the top corner again giving Ty no chance.
At 2-2 and with penalties again looming, we did look like were tiring somewhat in the last few minutes on a heavy pitch. With virtually the last kick of the game Salford found themselves clean through, our appeals for offside were waived away, and they slotted home past Ty to win the game 3-2 with virtually the last kick. Agonisingly the 2nd result changing last minute goal we have conceded in the last 2 weeks!
Our Supplimentary Cup campaign is now sadly over but again we should be proud of our performance, in my opinion we were the better team in all 4 of our cup matches, with one win, one draw (lost on pens) and 2 narrow defeats by a single goal. We are improving no end since January and are a difficult team to beat now, strong at the back, tenacious in midfield and starting to create many chances when going forward. I want this form to be carried over to our final 7 league games to try and finish as high up the league as we can.
Notable performances today were Ryan Cordingley who listened to our advice at half time to release the ball quicker to the strikers, and had a hand in both goals. Josh Green was tremendous, he had the Salford defence panicking whenever he got the ball and was unlucky not to get more than 2 today. But player of the match went to Aidan Thompson, unlucky not to get POTM last week, again he was everywhere in midfield, stopping the opposition and at the heart of many of our attacks. Well done Aidan! If we keep these performances going until the end of the season the results will inevitably come! ⚽️
