The game started off with Beechy 2nd to everything and being one dimensional. We were struggling with gauging our space and shape, dropping too deep in midfield and therefore allowing the opposition onto us. Regardless of that we found ourselves going ahead via a Glenn Tepa smart finish. The opposition continued to dominate without fashioning clear chances at our goal. However they found themselves on the right wing, swung in a cross that our central defender misjudged leaving our right back on an island with 2 players and a smart finish levelled it. Another rare mistake, this time a bad back pass that was intercepted by the opposition, our keeper tried his best but the went ahead and that's how we went into the half. Half time talk and shuffle of the deck and we started the 2nd half hungrier and more energetic, squeezing the space more in midfield and generally finding our fluidity. Smart play found Oliver Sheridan slipping Karo down the right channel and a smart finish across the goal saw us level and the momentum back with us. James pulled off a smart stop and was generally playing big in goal. Enoch soon found himself in the box and with another smart finish we were in the lead. Karo rounded off a monster performance with another well taken finish. Opposition did fashion some chances but couldn't take them. To round it all off Glenn Tepa completed his brace with a well placed finish and that took the wind out of their sails. Man of the Match will be shared by James Kavanagh who grew in confidence and started playing sweeper keeper and Karo, who although not 100% was a nuisance for the back line all day not to mention the well taken brace. Opposition Manager came to me (Kennedy Chirwa) and said today we gave them a masterclass in finishing and on reflection I agree.
