Three Wins in Three games sees the Thunder Boys reach there second cup final in 12 months with a emphatic performance against Parkwyddn Goal Scorers Aldo Gannon Three Ronnie Green two Gideon James two Freddie Tipton one and Parker Haworth one two of the goals coming from set pieces and one being a contender for goal of the season, Parkwyddn started the game strongest but once Thunder put there foot on the gas showing how dominant they are becoming in attack and defence, a special performance today from a team full of confidence and 8 wins on the spin. Congratulations to our trophy winners today George Lawson who was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with a strong display in defence and attack and Parker Haworth with a strong game in defence and on the wing and a special long range freekick.

An exciting match from start to finish with a truly dramatic ending. The day began with perfect football weather as the teams took to the newly renovated Moorside pitch.
The match started open and competitive, with chances at both ends. As the minutes passed, Beechfield began to gain confidence and take control of the match with strong intensity, creating several opportunities but initially struggling to convert them.
The breakthrough finally came when Samuel delivered a corner and Alvin reacted quickly, firing a shot that he managed to recover and finish into the net to open the scoring.
Shortly after, Samuel added the second goal following a strong ball recovery and a powerful strike that left the goalkeeper with no chance.
Moorside responded by increasing the pressure on our defence and managed to score from the right wing. Beechfield answered again when Alvin struck for his second of the game, restoring the two-goal cushion.
Soon after, Kevin capitalised on a poor clearance from the Moorside goalkeeper, recovering the ball and finishing confidently to put Beechfield 4–1 ahead. Before the half-time whistle, Moorside managed to score once more, closing the gap.
The second half began with renewed intensity from Moorside, who quickly added another goal to tighten the contest. A moment of calm came when Alvin delivered a corner and Samuel finished well, extending Beechfield’s lead again.
However, after taking a two-goal advantage, Beechfield slightly dropped the tempo, and Moorside took full advantage, punishing a few defensive mistakes to score two goals and level the match at 5–5.
The final five minutes were truly dramatic. When Alvin returned to the field, Beechfield regained control through high pressing and strong ball recoveries. The pressure forced a mistake from the Moorside defence, which Alvin quickly capitalised on to score the sixth goal, here we begin to feel victory again
Beechfield kept pushing high up the pitch. After another battle in midfield the ball bounced loose between players, and Samuel reacted fastest, securing possession and finishing decisively to seal the 7–5 victory.
🏅 Man of the Match (Players’ Vote)
The players selected Harry as Man of the Match, and it was a well-deserved choice. He produced several important interventions throughout the game, clearing danger from the area and preventing Moorside from adding more goals.

Chosen almost unanimously by the parents, Alvin was the standout performer of the day. Outstanding in ball recovery, powerful runs, excellent passing, and completing a fantastic hat-trick — today was truly his day to shine. ⚽✨
**Stretford Vics versus BEECHFIELD UTD U/8's STORM
Beechfield Storm delivered another outstanding performance in their league clash with Stretford Vics, running out emphatic 13–1 winners in a dominant display that keeps their impressive unbeaten run going.
The opening five minutes saw a slow start from both sides as the teams settled into the match. However, the breakthrough soon arrived when Archie opened the scoring for Beechfield Storm, setting the tone for what would become a remarkable afternoon.
Stretford Vics managed to respond quickly with an equaliser, briefly bringing the game back into balance. But Beechfield Storm wasted little time regaining control. Archie struck again to restore the lead before Ollie, after making several powerful runs down the left wing, added another with a brilliant finish.
From there the momentum only grew stronger. Archie continued what felt like a personal tug-of-war with the goals with Ollie adding another strike as the crowd roared their approval. The boys in blue were playing with confidence and energy, and the goals kept coming.
Much of the team’s success came from their excellent passages of play. Jaxx led from the back with calm and composed passing, helping the team build attacks from defence. Reni, Ollie, and Louie were electric down the wings, constantly stretching the opposition, while Archie’s relentless pressing kept Stretford Vics under constant pressure. Behind it all, Daley remained dependable in goal whenever called upon. His teammates making light work for our number one, but we know when is time comes, we know the cat will spring into action!!!
At halftime, the Beechy boys headed in with their tails wagging, firmly in control of the game.
The second half began in spectacular fashion when Reni unleashed an absolute rocket — pirlo-style — from the halfway line that flew into the top corner. Moments later he bagged another goal followed in quick succession, further extending Storm’s lead.
Not long after, Louie got his name on the scoresheet following an impressive performance on the wing. His strong pressing and skilful footwork had caused problems all match, and his goal was well deserved.
Archie then added yet another goal to his tally, showing great determination to win the ball back, forcing the defender into a mistake before calmly placing the ball over the line.
With ten minutes left, the team decided to mix things up by pushing Daley, normally the reliable cat between the sticks, up front. The whole team was eager to see him score as part of what had already been a fantastic team performance. Their wish came true when Daley found himself one-on-one with the keeper and coolly slotted home the final goal of the afternoon.
The final whistle confirmed a 13–1 victory for Beechfield Storm U8s in what could only be described as a cricket score.
Man of the Match went to Archie, whose hunger for goals and relentless pressing made him a constant threat throughout the game.
It was a tremendous all-round team performance from the boys in blue — every player worked hard, played their part, and helped extend Beechfield Storm’s unbeaten run in style. ⚽🔥Myself, Colin and Lester are proud of this team as they keep striving each week and putting dominant performance! well done to the Storm we go again next week.
**BEECHFIELD UTD TORNADOES U8s v Blackfriars FC
Date: Saturday 7th March 2026
Score: Tornadoes 5 – 2 Blackfriars

First Half:
Tornadoes started brightly with Gianluca opening the scoring early on with a great finish.
Theo was busy in goal in the first half, making a number of important saves and calmly collecting the ball when needed.
Eric had an early chance but just missed the target, while Franklin and Zane both did well defensively to stop Blackfriars attacks.
Noah showed great determination with some strong runs forward and battles for the ball in midfield.
Blackfriars managed to pull one back, but the Tornadoes kept pushing.
Franklin scored a well-taken goal to restore the lead, and after more pressure Eric added another goal to give the Tornadoes a strong advantage going into the break.
Theo continued to make several key saves to keep the team ahead.
Second Half:
The second half started with more attacking play from the Tornadoes boys.
Noah scored a goal after another energetic run forward.
Theo had two quick shots that were both saved by the keeper before he eventually got his goal with a great finish.
Sergio and Eric both tested the goalkeeper several times with good shots, while Zane and Rocco continued to battle hard in defence.
Eric also produced a fantastic run all the way down the field showing great determination.
Blackfriars managed to score again, but Tornadoes stayed in control for the rest of the game.
A strong team performance with lots of effort, good attacking play, and some important saves. The score could easily have been higher in the second half, but the Blackfriars goalkeeper played a blinder and made several excellent saves to keep them in the game.
**BEECHFIELD UTD U/13's TORNADOES 9 v Ladybridge FC 1.
Goalscorers: Max Blood (4) Zack MacKinnon (2) Thomas Ramsden (2) and Luke Bennett.
Well, another brilliant performance from the lads this morning… They all played their part!
Confidence is high and you can tell, as we are playing some brilliant football!

The defence looked solid today. Working and defending as a unit and bringing the ball forwards..
Creating angles is something we’ve been working on, so working to make sure that there is always someone available for a pass…
Some well worked and well taken goals today. Working hard to win the first and second balls is so important and then getting the ball on to the forwards to finish the move off!

One highlight moment was when their player made it passed our defence and round Harvey and Daniel came from nowhere and did an amazing last ditch tackle! Ball out for a corner.
That was celebrated just as much as the goals! Well done 👏

**BEECHFIELD UTD U/11's STORM v Pine Villa
This Bolton Bury and District League Green Division 9v9 fixture was switched to the Astroturf Pitch at Salford Sports Village. Due to various reasons Storm had only eight players available for the game but making a confident start Beechy enjoyed a greater share of the ball and the visitors keeper had a busy opening period. Bobby Lowe gave Storm the lead from the penalty spot but Pine Villa got a slightly lucky equaliser before Bobby was on target again to restore the lead. The visitors equalised for a second time and managed to add a third goal to hold the lead at half time. As the second half developed Beechy went down to seven players due to an injury and despite an all-round gutsy display Storm conceded three more goals to become unlucky losers. Carter Lowe and Jacob Foster shared the Man of the Match award and Beechy goalkeeper Dexter Shenton made several top-class saves. Also getting a pat on the back for their performances in the game were Harry Chambers, Zaid Yasser, Oscar Berry and Henry Richardson.
**BEECHFIELD UTD U/12's LIGHTNING 4 v Manchester Polonia 6
In the Manchester Youth Super League the U/12's LIGHTNING 9v9 produced a positive performance and creating loads of chances scored four decent goals. Lightning did concede some soft goals but overall they defended well. On target with the goals for Beechy were Riley Hancock (2) Henry Dunn and Austin Fillingham.
**BEECHFIELD UTD STORM U9's 0 - 4 Old Trafford Aces*
Supplementary Cup fixture
Tough game to take as Storm fell to a loss against Old Trafford Aces who took their revenge in the Red league cup group.
Old Trafford looked the strongest from the start with plenty of guilt edge chances - Vincent making some saves look easy - though Storm really struggled to get the ball up the field, when did getting the ball stuck in the grass with their foes closing every ball down.
Both Nathan and Jose had created chances though these were pot shots which unfortunately went wide & high.
A change on formation backfired as Storm conceded twice through lax defending allowing too much space for the strikers to be able to squeeze the ball in.
Going in at half time at 3 nil Storm really needed a reaction and tightened up - chances did fall to Jose & Jacob though as in the first struggled to get clean shots off in the long grass.
The 4th was a counter attack which with storm pushing for another goal got caught.
Best chance was brilliantly created by Josh who bombed down the right, found Nathan who played across to Arman who from some heroic defending couldn’t get it past.
Highlights from a game in which storm did struggle was some brilliant saves from Alfie who was on fire - made some exceptional stops in the first and second half highlights being some 1v1s and an acrobatic save in the first half.
Some others to Josh and Reggie who battled throughout with some staunch defending as well as Yusha who when he came on steadied the defence well.
Big game missing key players saw Storm fall to a defeat and a big reaction for next week required 👏
**BEECHFIELD UTD TORNADOES U9's vs Winton Devils U9's

After a defeat to this team a few weeks ago this game could have gone either way, but with great determination and resilience the boys managed to take control of the game from the first minute. The fantastic team work from all areas of the pitch led to an early goal that didn’t stop throughout the first half of the game.
Changing things up at half time, playing a more defensive half of football to bring what looked like an easy and comfortable victory.
The boys should be so proud of themselves for a great performance today. Winton Devils have recently been promoted to a higher league, playing like we did today shows we have an ever improving team and great future to look forward to.
🏆MOTM for Arlo, 4 great goals and he ran his socks off, switching from his usual forward position to lend a hand and a foot in midfield
🏆MOTM for Ralph, Ralph did his job fantastically putting pressure on their players throughout, what stood out today was his passing. He has been working on this in training over the past few months and today shows that training really does pay off in the game situation.

**BEECHFIELD UTD U12's TORNADOES 1-1 Swinton U12 Warriors (Swinton won 4-3 on penalties)
After last week's narrow defeat we knew we must win today to have any chance of progression in the Supplimentary Cup.
The first half was really tight, there was nothing in the game. Our best chances fell to Josh Green and Jack Sinclair, and we forced numerous corners but could not find the breakthrough. At the other end Ty Dobson was in sublime form in the Beechy goal saving superbly on 3 occasions, the pick of the three when diving low to his right. Defences were on top however and for the 2nd week running we went in goalless at half time.
In the second half, and with the aid of the slope, we threatened more and were the better team. Josh, Grayson Evans and Jayden Lowe all had chances but the Swinton keeper would not be beaten. Finally with about 10 minutes left we deservedly took the lead. Josh showed great strength, skill and composure when bursting through on the right finishing well into the bottom corner. Swinton started to attack more as the clock ticked towards the end, and just as it was looking like Beechy would hold out for a deserved victory Swinton forced an equaliser right at the death with the ball fortuitously bobbling in off the bumpy Beech Farm turf with virtually the last kick of the game. Final score 1-1, and we went to penalties.
After the initial 5 penalties the score was 3-3 with Grayson Evans, Aidan Thompson and Jack Sinclair all on target for Beechy. We went to sudden death and Swinton scored theirs whilst we saw our effort saved. Final score 4-3 to Swinton.
For the 2nd week running we were the better team but have been narrowly beaten. Yet again though the performance was there and the whole team were terrific. We are certainly heading in the right direction.
Notable performances today were Jack Costello, again a rock at the back. Aidan Thompson was everywhere in midfield protecting the back 4 and linking up well with the forwards. But Player of the Match today went to our keeper Ty Dobson who's 3 saves in the first half in particular were top class, he was so unlucky not to keep a clean sheet today. Well done Ty!
Its likely we are out of the cup now but all 11 players put a shift in today and the lads were gutted at the end, but they should keep their heads held high. We've been the better team in all 3 of our cup matches and with a bit more luck we could have won the lot. We are improving every week as a team and this is clear for all to see. We go again next week!
