We had our final Supplimentary cup game today and could no longer qualify for the finals after our previous loss and draw.
The first half of football today was our worst in the competition thus far and we found ourselves four goals down at half time as Winton dominated. Grayson Evans had our two best chances but shot agonisingly wide. We were poor positionally and did not work as hard as we had done in the earlier games so we had to improve after the break.
We started the 2nd half much better and despite shooting uphill managed to create countless chances. Freya Quinn was unfortunate in hitting the bar. Grayson Evans also hit the bar, Dawood Fakeeh had efforts cleared off the line and saved Jayden Lowe had a chance saved after bursting through the middle, and Ryan Cordingley who was like a new player 2nd half and also went close. The ball would simply not go in for us, it was to be one of those days. Winton scored with one of their rare attacks in the 2nd half and ended up the winners. It was a game of two halves and although Winton were worthy winners the scoreline flattered them somewhat.
Player of the Match went to Dawood Fakeeh who was absolutely everywhere on the pitch, winning tackles, creating chances, and was unlucky not to score.
