Unfortunately Beechfield Storm fell to a 5-4 defeat against a strong Swinton Lions side.
Beechfield started the brightest getting a foothold into the game with some great attacking play - Henry, Alfie and James all breaking into the box and shooting wide. The deadlock was broken with a powerful run by Alfie who was fouled. The resulting penalty was taken, saved but rapidly followed up by James putting away the rebound.
Against the run of play the ball was passed into the box to an unmarked Swinton player to make the game 1-1.
Beechy replied shortly after with a great passing move culminating in a cool finish by Charlie. This was replied with another break and penalty which Henry unduly delivered into the bottom left corner.
Following changes Beechy struggled to match the same intensity and a shot squirmed under Alfie in goal to make it 3-2. Following a couple of good saves Beechy was breached again on the stroke of halftime with a poor clearance and finished by Swinton. A couple of chances fell to Storm though unfortunately finished with a great run by Ralph caused the keeper to make another save.
Going in 3-3 at half time Beechy had kept pushing for a winner and unfortunately caught on the break twice in the second half bringing it to 5-3. There was an improvement in the last part with the teams press coming off with a finish by James to take his tally to 5 goals in 2 since the turn of the year.
There was some good play and some good passing though the team struggled to defend man to man in this one which led to the result!

Charlie - had worked hard, physical throughout and took his goal well.
