BEECHFIELD UTD U/12's TORNADOES 2-1 Boothstown U12 Hornets
Its been a long, tough season, but the Tornadoes finally managed their first win of the campaign against Boothstown!
The game very nearly didnt happen, but a late switch to the Astroturf at Salford Sports Village saved the day. We had a bare 9 players but welcomed the return to fitness of keeper Ty Dobson who played in goal for the first time in 2 months.
Boothstown had the best of the early chances and keeper Ty made a fantastic save one v one to keep the scores level. Beechy grew into the game and started playing some good football on an excellent passing surface, but chances were at a premium for us as we often held onto the ball too long in and around the Boothstown box when we should have shot or played a pass.
Boothstown took the lead shortly before half time scoring an 'olimpico' goal direct from a corner curling into the roof of the net at the far post, keeper Ty had no chance. We didnt give up however and Harry Myddelton had a chance shortly after, latching onto a loose ball from our corner but his shot was agonisingly cleared off the line. Half time 0-1.
We knew we were in the game and spoke at half time about how we had come from behind against Boothstown in the past and could do it again if we had the desire and belief to do so.
We started the 2nd half really well. Some excellent football on the left between Dawood Fakeeh, Ryan Cordingley and Josh Green led to Josh having a shot which was tipped round the post by the Boothstown keeper. Grayson Evans took the resulting corner, which was met sweetly on the volley by Josh Green, firing into the roof of the net for the equaliser!
The goal spurred us on, and despite Boothstown having more of the ball we looked a real threat on the counter and played some really good passing football. We almost took the lead when Alex McGrory linked up with Ryan on the left, Ryan forcing another good save from the Boothstown keeper. At the other end our new formation seemed to be working. Boothstown could not get through our magnificent back 3 of Alex, Jayden Lowe and Aidan Thompson, and we restricted Boothstown to shots from outside the box in the 2nd half, all dealt with comfortably by keeper Ty.
We almost took the lead when Josh had an effort from outside the box which clipped the outside of the post. With the clock ticking, Josh had a similar effort shortly afterwards which the Boothstown keeper did well to get a hand to but the hand wasn't strong enough and the ball clipped the inside of the post and trickled over the line to give Beechy a 2-1 lead with 5 minutes left! The team were ecstatic! But we knew we still had a job to do to get over the line.
In the last 5 minutes we parked the bus to hold onto our lead, Boothstown forced a couple of corners but we defended really well as we had done all game and Boothstown struggled to create a serious chance to equalise. Final score 2-1 to Beechy, a thoroughly deserved first win of the season for the team!
Guest spectator and Beechy Secretary Keith Long chose player of the match. This could have gone to any of the 9 today who were all terrific, but the award went to Dawood Fakeeh who put in a tireless box to box performance defending heroic at one end and helping create at the other. Well done Dawood but more importantly well done to the whole team, you were absolutely tremendous today. I was impressed by our work ethic and communication on the pitch, and the quality of our football was a joy to watch today, and it was great to finally get a long overdue win! Hopefully we can use this as a springboard for the rest of the season! Go Beechy! ⚽️👕😁

Tough Winter Test Against a Top-League Opponent
The match kicked off on a cold winter morning, as Beechfield reunited after an extended December break to face one of one of the strongest teams in the league. From the opening minutes, the game was evenly balanced, with chances at both ends and good intensity from both sides.
However, a few defensive mistakes allowed Salford Storm to take advantage and score the first three goals of the match. The introduction of Kevin brought new energy and clarity to Beechfield’s play. Through a well-worked passing combination with Alvin, Kevin pulled one back with a composed finish to get Beechfield on the scoresheet.
Salford Storm responded with two more goals, but right at the end of the first half, Kevin struck again — recovering the ball himself and calmly finishing past the goalkeeper. The half time score reflected the challenge ahead.
The second half began similarly, with both teams competing evenly, but once again Salford Storm found their rhythm and added three early goals. Beechfield responded with fresh legs and renewed effort. A brilliant pass from William found Kevin, who finished confidently to add one more to his scoresheet and give the team some momentum.
Salford Storm managed to score again shortly after the celebration, and in the final moments of the match, both teams added one more goal each. The final whistle confirmed a 4–11 result in favour of the visitors.
A difficult match against top-level opposition, but one full of lessons. This game highlighted areas for improvement as Beechfield continues its journey toward consistently competing in the top group of the league.
MOM: Kevin — A standout performance. He made the difference for the team, constantly asking for the ball, driving the play forward, and finishing with four excellent goals. A true leader on the pitch today.

Swinton Lions 6 v BEECHFIELD UTD THUNDER 3
First match of 2026 started so positively for Thunder taking a two goal lead against a strong Swinton side with goals from Gideon James and Parker Haworth. Thunder showed how good they can be on the ball and collectively the whole team put a shift in creating chances throughout the match, Gideon got his second goal of the game making it 3-3 but the lack of practice and game time because of the festive break and postponements caught up with Thunder and Swinton ended up with the 6-3 win, credit to the boys in this league they leave it all on the pitch and are getting closer in these big games and just showing how far they have come over the last 18 months who are making games very difficult for opposition teams Well done to our trophy winners Aldo Gannon who celebrated is 8th birthday on Matchday and Gideon James played so well in defence and attack.

*BEECHFIELD UTD STORM U9's 3 - 2 Old Trafford Panthers*
Frosty morning for Storm who had two contrasting halves but got the game over the line in the last minute with a depleted squad.
Alfie between the sticks, Yusha and Reggie at the back with Nathan & Josh in midfield and Jacob behind Jose upfront.
Both teams looking to pass with the ball zipping quickly on the 4g - Storm putting together some nice passes and getting shots off with Jacob taking an early shot hitting the side of the net. Old Trafford responded with a long shot acrobatically tipped round the post by Alfie as well a fizzed shot from the edge of the box turned round the post by Storms stopper.
Storm assumed control of the game - Nathan taking the ball deep and with Old Trafford pushed up slid a beautiful through ball to Jose who raced through & finished. Following this Storm really started cruising with OT unable to get control of the ball - Reggie, Yusha and then the returning George looked comfortable mopping and distributing well.
Reggie strong on the left curling the ball through to Jacob who couldn’t find Jose with a cross.
However; Nathan picked the ball on the right and played a ridiculous through ball to Jose who cut in, finishing past the goal keeper.
Second half it was a different tale; the Panthers started to get joy with a change in formation & early in the first half their number 8 got through - two great saves from Alfie however a lack of clearance on the 3rd found its way past him.
Storm looking unable to cope had a ball played down the wing, their striker shrugging off defenders and despite having his first shot saved, the second squirmed past. Crosses and corners firing in with flash shots going wide.
Storm needing composure made a couple of tactical changes. George got himself on to get a handle on the attackers which he did brilliantly with Reggie (the destroyer) instructions to man mark their striker out the game. Jacob joined the midfield who started combining excellently with Nathan in the middle.
Storm starting to see a breakthrough was possible saw Nathan take the ball to the right, slide through to Jose who’s control alluded him, ball came back to Josh who flashed wide. Further chances as Jacob took the ball on the left taking a pot shot at goal which was tipped onto the bar.
In the dying minutes Nathan sprayed the ball to Josh who had raced down the right wing, cut across on the edge of the box with it being laced into the top right corner.
Some stand outs across the team today; Storm didn’t look like conceding with George on the pitch today making a great return at the back; Nathan & Jose - school mates as well as team mates - combined brilliantly for the two goals.
MOTM:
*Alfie* - 3 brilliant saves at the start of the first half when the game was at deadlock, strong long distribution & was unlucky to concede in the second half despite making initial saves. Always talking and seems to save his best for the Old Trafford teams!
BEECHFIELD UTD U/8's STORM v Flixton Raptors
Beechfield edged out Flixton in a thrilling 3–2 victory on a bitterly cold morning, with temperatures around 0°C and a late change of venue adding to the challenge.
With no substitutes available, the fantastic five showed incredible determination from start to finish, working solidly as a team, playing for each other, and showing a real desire to get the win.
Beechfield started strongly and took the lead in the first half through Ollie, who finished well to make it 1–0 at the break.
The second half was end-to-end, with Flixton responding to level the game before Ollie struck again to restore Beechfield’s lead. Flixton showed great resilience to equalise once more, setting up a tense finish.
With the game heading towards a draw, Jaxx popped up with a dramatic last-minute winner, sealing a hard-fought 3–2 victory.
Defensively, Daley produced a series of brilliant saves to keep Beechfield in the contest at crucial moments. Archie delivered a strong performance on the wing, providing constant energy and width, while Louie worked tirelessly up front, pressing defenders and coming agonisingly close to scoring.
A superb team performance in difficult conditions, full of commitment, teamwork, and heart — a fully deserved win for Beechfield
