**In the Manchester Youth Super League there was much improved performance from Beechy Under 12's LIGHTNING. At the leagues central venue Lightning took the lead in their game with Manchester Devils. Matteo La Rama was on target powering the ball past the Devils keeper to put Beechy on the front foot. Team manager James Fillingham said he felt Lightning needed to score a second goal as they were dominating the game. The Devils got a scrappy equaliser in the second half and despite hitting the post with efforts four times Beechy just couldn't find a deserved winning goal. Man of the Match was Crewe Reeves who produced a true captains performance in midfield. Result: Beechy Lightning 1 v Devils 1.
**Also in action in the MYSL were the Under 11's THUNDER who maintained their impressive unbeaten run. Beechy Manager Mark Newby admitted that this game with Shawside FC was the best he had seen in a long time. Mark was super proud of every player who worked their socks off as they displayed a great attitude. It was nice to see the Beechy Boys bonding as a team plus a joy to watch as the players show imporovement week by week. At half time the teams shared four goals but due to Thunder's hard work and determination Beechy eventually secured the win. Some of the football played was superb added to by several very good goals. It was a difficult choice regarding Man of the Match but the award went to Jacob Dyson for his all-round play. Goals for Thunder came via Sonny Phillips, Harley Cosgrove-Newby, Jack Steele, Edan Telford and Deo Waiwai.
**Beechfield Utd U/12's TORNADOES 5-3 Winton Wanderers U12 Wolverines (CUP MATCH)
We just about managed to get the go ahead to play today beating both the frost and the possible waterlogged pitch.
We started well with Josh Green having numerous chances in the first 10 minutes or so but the ball wouldn't go in for him today, he hit the bar, shot wide and forced the Winton keeper into many saves. Jack Sinclair was pinging numerous long passes forward and at the heart of many of our opportunities from the back. It was a really good game, with Winton missing chances of their own, first half Beechy keeper Grayson Evans was solid in goal. Winton then took the lead with a goal on the counter, and shortly after went 2-0 up with a similar goal. We could not believe we were behind in the match having missed so many chances, but the Tornadoes fighting spirit eventually started to pay dividends. Alex McGrory pulled a goal back for us when fed by Aidan Thompson, he struck a sweet strike from outside the box that went in off the post - Alex's first goal of the season. Shortly after we were level when Mason Stockton crossed from the left to Dawood Fakeeh to tap home from close range- this was also Dawood's first goal of the season. We almost took a deserved lead at the break as Ryan Cordingley had two chances but one was agonisingly wide and one well saved. Half time 2-2.
The 2nd half was tough as we were shooting uphill on a heavy pitch. The game was so open and end to end. We took the lead for the first time when Ryan Cordingley eventually got his deserved goal, pouncing first to a rebound after a keeper save - another one to get his first goal of the season. Shortly afterwards Alex played Grayson through on the left who finished superbly from a tight angle and we led 4-2. At this point Winton began to fight back and were on top for a spell. 2nd half keeper Reuben McCormick saved us on more than one occasion, Jayden Lowe did a sublime tackle of note when Winton were clean through, and Winton had a goal disallowed for offside. Eventually Winton's pressure told when a high shot went in off the bar- Reuben had no chance, and we were now only 4-3 ahead. Both teams continued to create, but thankfully it was Beechy who got the 5th. We won an indirect free kick in the box after a backpass and Josh linked up with Jack for the freekick but just as it looked like the chance had gone Ryan rifled home into the top corner. Full time 5-3 to Beechy!
This was a really entertaining game and im not exaggerating by saying both sides could have scored double figures, but we created more and thoroughly deserved the win. This was our 3rd win from 4 games since the turn of the year and we have come from behind to win each of those 3, epitomising the Tornadoes battling spirit and never say die attitude. All 10 players contributed key moments today, a proper team performance!
Again player of the match was tough to decide as all 10 players put in a shift, but the award deservedly went to Ryan Cordingley with his first 2 goals of the season and he was a menace throughout! Well done Ryan but again well done team, we're in a confident mood at the moment playing some good football and getting results. Roll on next match! ⚽️🌪👕😁

First Half
A cold morning with warm sunshine. Sergio tried from long range and later beat his opponent but hit the post. Theo took a good free kick that was cleared off the line, and Eric saw a shot go just wide.
The opposition countered and made it 0–1.
Gianluca played Eric in but the goalkeeper saved.
Sergio worked well defensively and Franklin made a great save. We pressed and created chances — Sergio with a strong run down the flank, Theo forcing a corner, and Gianluca testing the keeper — but it stayed 0–1 at halftime.

Second Half
The second half followed a similar pattern, with their goalkeeper making several saves from Eric and others. Zane made a good run that led to a corner and Eric hit the post again.
Theo did well in goal and Rocco defended strongly. Gianluca kept trying, but the goalkeeper was hard to beat.
The opposition scored again from long range to make it 0–2.
It was a very close game with lots of chances and on another day it could easily have gone either way.
We were just unlucky in front of goal, coming up against a strong goalkeeper and the post more than once.
The effort, attitude and teamwork were there throughout — we’ll keep working hard in training and the results will follow. Well done everyone, probably the best football we’ve seen them play yet ⚽💪

The match kicked off on a cold winter morning, with both teams starting evenly and showing good early football. Possession and chances were shared in the opening minutes, but the balance didn’t last long. Swinton began to break through with well-worked plays and quickly built momentum, finding the back of the net multiple times to move ahead.
With the score at 0–4, Beechfield produced a bright attacking moment — a 2-vs-1 situation featuring Kevin and Samuel. Kevin delivered the pass at the right moment, and Samuel fired a powerful shot into the net to get the team on the scoreboard.
Before the end of the first half, Swinton added two more goals, sending the match into the break at 1–6.
The second half saw Jude take over in goal and deliver an excellent all-around performance — contributing both as an outfield player earlier and then producing several phenomenal saves in net after Harry’s exit. Despite those efforts, Swinton continued their scoring run and added five more goals during the half.
Beechfield kept fighting and managed another well-worked goal through the same effective partnership — Kevin with the assist and Samuel with a powerful finish — a repeat of their earlier successful combination.
Even with the difficult scoreline, the team continued competing and working until the final whistle.
