*The U/21's Storm conceded the opening goal against FC Bridgewater before they got a foothold in the game but unfortunately Beechy found themselves 2-0 down. Gradually Storm found a better rhythm and putting pressure on their opponents reduced the arrears with a goal from Joe Northall. More chances were on offer for Beechy before Caleb Hoyes was on target when he made it 2-2. FC Bridgewater dominated the second half and added three more goals without reply but despite the defeat Storm produced a good performance.
*Storm celebrated their second victory of the season after they made the long journey to play Tintwistle Athletic and came home with a 6-1 victory. Johnny Walsh went close to a goal via a fine effort before Luke Woodward scored a great goal to give Storm the lead. Both Caleb Hoyes and Bradley Oliver saw attempts go just wide of the target prior to the referee making a shocking decision when he awarded Tintwistle a penalty. A hosts player scored with the resulting spot-kick and the teams shared a 1-1 scoreline at the break. Beechy stepped up a gear in the second half and regained the lead after Bradley Oliver fired the ball into the net from close range. Josh Everall made it 3-1 following a corner then from the penalty-spot Joe Northall added Storm's fourth goal. Joe scored again to make it 5-1 and Bradley Oliver completed the scoring with an easy finish. (18/1/2025)
*Beechy from Division 2 played a friendly match against Division 1 opponents Astley Bridge who had an early chance after a great bicycle kick attempt to score. Storm were tigerish in the tackle and from a breakaway attack Beechy opened the scoring when Bradley Oliver netted with a coolly taken penalty. Forty minutes passed before Astley Bridge had their first real chance of a goal before Ben Glynn on a clear run should have added a better finish to a good flowing move. Astley Bridge went close following some long range efforts prior to Joe Northall putting Storm 2-0 up when he finished off a great move through midfield. During the second half the visitors to Salford Sports Village forced some excellent defending from a well organised Storm unit and despite controlling the flow of the game at times Astley Bridge rarely created any worthwhile chances. New players Joseph Melling and Cole McGinley made impressive debuts. (25/1/2025)
