Salford and District Junior League Blue Group
Beechfield's first home match in a couple of months saw them claim a draw against a very good Salford side. Thunder started the game very well with an early goal from Debutant Roman Ashworth which gave Beechfield an early lead. Salford Storm pulled a goal back from the penalty spot but then shortly after some nice link up play from Ronnie Green saw Roman Ashworth get his second goal of the match. Beechfield started to keep possession and play some good football on a heavy pitch and Gideon James started to put in some great passes to the forward line, Jesse Fletchers commitment in attack helping our wide players was great to see and the movement from the whole team saw Aldo Gannon score our 3rd goal, giving us a two goal lead at half time. Salford got an early second goal and started to apply more pressure but some great defending held out Salford but five minutes from the end Salford got their equaliser but this didn't stop Beechfield going all out attack and Ronnie Green was very unlucky on two occasions not to get the winner. Just before the final whistle Goalkeeper Raurie Brassington pulled off the save of the season and stopping Salford getting all three points, a great game to watch and well done to Roman Ashworth, Jesse Fletcher and Raurie Brassington on winning the trophies this week
