*The Under 16's HURRICANES were away to Wythenshawe Wanderers and looking to extend their current unbeaten run in the Salford and Districts Junior League to five games. Beechy were at full strength and hoping for a positive result after previously winning 4-0 the last time the teams met. In Division 1 the Hurricanes took the lead inside the opening five minutes when Rafael Djacy opened the scoring then an effort by Joshua Whitehead from a free kick bounced off the crossbar, not once but twice. Beechy held their narrow one goal advantage at the break but they should have been further ahead under the circumstances. The hosts equalised early in the second half and two goals in quick succession gave Wythenshawe a slight advantage. Then suddenly the Hurricanes were left reeling after leading for so long when Wythenshawe added a third goal. The Wythenshawe players were celebrating a fourth goal until the referee disallowed it a decision that wasn't popular with the home teams supporters. After the referee had spoken to both sets of players Beechy took full advantage via Rafael Djacy who was on target again with the Hurricanes second goal. But Wythenshawe responded as they took a 4-2 lead leaving the Hurricanes with a tough task ahead. Beechy's comeback began thanks to Henry Errington who raced through the Wythenshawe defence and with a decisive finish made it 4-3. With not much time remaining Man of the Match Rafael Djacy completed the scoring plus his hat-trick and honours were even following a crazy second half.
*On Sunday morning in the East Manchester Junior League Beechy Under 16's THUNDER were at home against Boundary Park Blues who held a higher position in the Division 3 table so Thunder expected a tough game. The visitors dominated the early exchanges of the match and a great finish from the edge of the box gave Boundary Park the lead. During a good response from Beechy Pedro Do Santos delivered a great corner and a bullet header by Sophiyulah Bakare flew inches over the crossbar. Keeping the pressure on their opponents Thunder went close again to an equaliser after Pedro's effort skimmed the top of the crossbar. A clumsy challenge by a Beechy defender gifted Boundary Park a penalty and from the resulting spot-kick the visitors led 2-0. Despite the setback Thunder heads didn't go down and Beechy got a goal back after Rafael Djacy robbed the ball off a defender and executed a brilliant finish when he lobbed the ball over the keeper from 25 yards. Boosted by the goal Beechy powered forward again and a great through pass by Sultan Oladuja set-up Rafael Djacy who made it 2-2 after he used his pace to produce a powerful run before firing the ball into the bottom corner of the net. A corner to Thunder led to a goalmouth melee and the referee awarded a spot-kick for a foul on Sophiyulah Bakare who coolly slotted home the penalty to put Beechy 3-2 up and complete a superb first half comeback.
Quickly finding their rhythm in the second half Thunder took a 4-2 lead when Joshua Whitehead delivered an absolutely brilliant pass from midfield and Zack Davies who was positioned at the far post confidently fired the ball under the onrushing keeper. Henry Errington was victim of a couple of bad challenges and the referee had no option but caution a Boundary Park player for his reckless play. The visitors got back into the game after a long ball forward released two visitors strikers and Beechy keeper Oliver Dalton-Bunker was in action making a great reaction save from the initial effort to score then a superb last-ditch tackle by Henry Errington cleared the ball out of the danger zone. Boundary Park took advantage against a tired looking Thunder outfit as they added their third goal following a quick counter-attack to set-up a tense final few minutes and keeping the pressure on Beechy the visitors earned themselves a fourth and equalising goal. From a free kick Oliver Dalton-Bunker made a brilliant save following a close range header but he couldn't prevent the rebound from being forced into the net. Thunder had dominated the match for long periods but they didn't take enough of their chances to secure the victory.
*Beechy Under 15's TORNADOES produced a decent display in their Salford and Districts Junior League Supplementary Cup Group B game against Sale United Sabres. But after conceding a goal in each half the Tornadoes who had home advantage suffered a 2-1 defeat. Archie Lock scored a late consolation goal for Beechy.
*In the Manchester Youth Super League the Under 11's LIGHTNING Boys met Strike FC at the central venue. Beechy played very well in this Division 2 game but they didn't get the result they deserved. After playing some great football in the first half Lightning went close to taking the lead on several occasions but against the run of play in the second half Beechy conceded two goals and eventually suffered a defeat. Man of the Match was goalkeeper James Hardman who produced a super commanding display. If Lightning keep producing these impressive performances then the winning results will come.
*Away to Monton Sport Mavericks the Under 9's THUNDER made a great start in this Red Group fixture with an early goal via Jude Bond who was on target after the keeper had saved his initial shot. There were lots of chances for Thunder in the first half of this Salford and Districts Junior League game but some poor finishing and good goalkeeping meant that Beechy were still one goal ahead at half time. The Mavericks made a decent start in the second half and found an equaliser though Harrison Spencer with the goal of the game restored Thunder's lead but unfortunately Beechy conceded two late goals and lost the game. Tiffany Kandemiri was Thunder's Player of the Match for an excellent first half display and some good saves in the second half when she took on the goalkeepers role.
*The highlight of the Under 8's TORNADOES versus Moorside Rangers Green fixture was a sensational Beechy mini-soccer debut for Billy Boyd. In the Salford and Districts Junior League this Yellow Group game produced twelve goals and Billy was on target with all six Tornadoes goals.
