Beechfield Storm capped off their unbeaten season with a dramatic victory over Ordsall Vipers in an action-packed Under-7s clash. Both teams was unbeaten coming into this, now sitting firmly in the top spot the Storm boys stood firm.
The match was a thrilling encounter from start to finish, showcasing superb skills, incredible saves, and decisive moments that kept the crowd gripped throughout.
First Half:
The game began with Ordsall Vipers making an early statement, opening the scoring after some sharp attacking play. Despite the setback, Beechfield’s goalkeeper Harry stood firm, making a series of brilliant saves to deny the Vipers from extending their lead.
Beechfield rallied quickly, and Louie displayed excellent vision to set up Ollie, who coolly slotted home the equaliser. The momentum began to shift in Storm’s favour, but Harry was once again called into action, making two crucial saves to keep the scoreline level.
As the half progressed, Storm edged ahead. Archie showcased his playmaking abilities, delivering a perfectly timed assist for Ollie, who doubled his tally with another composed finish. Harry made one final save before halftime to ensure Storm went into the break with a slender lead.
Second Half:
The second half began with Harry once again proving his worth, pulling off a vital save to keep Storm’s lead intact. However, Ordsall Vipers refused to back down, and their relentless pressure paid off as they equalised with a well-taken goal. Moments later, they struck again to take the lead, setting up a tense finale.
Storm showed their trademark resilience and determination, battling back with style. Archie stepped up for a free kick and delivered a spectacular “top bins” strike to level the game.
With time ticking down, the decisive moment came when Ollie turned provider, setting up Reni to skilfully finish and restore Storm’s lead. The final moments were tense, but Beechfield held firm, with Harry and the defence ensuring there were no late surprises.
Jaxx was outstanding throughout the game, providing tireless effort in both attack and defence, earning him the well-deserved title of Man of the Match.
This hard-fought victory was a fitting end to Storm’s unbeaten campaign, highlighting the team’s teamwork, skill and determination.
