*BEECHFIELD UTD STORM U9 5 - 1 Manchester South End U10*
Storm well and truly back in their groove who rode their luck at points though came away with a resounding result.
Alfie in goal, Reggie and captain Josh at the back, Nathan & Jacob the usual midfield duo with Arman and James on the wings.
Storm looked positive straight from the off, won the ball quickly and Josh thread through to Arman who’s shot stung the goal keepers palms.
While looking stronger Storm were almost again the architect of their own demise - Alfie with a shanked clearance gave the striker a chance on goal - the recovery however was excellent with Alfie making a low acrobatic save to push onto the post and cleared.
Storm regained composure with the team starting to win free kicks in dangerous areas with Nathan’s going wide, Jacob winning ones taking and flashing into the bottom corner to begin proceedings. Very much on the ascendency Arman picked the ball on the right, dribbled past one and threaded a ball to Nath, slammed it into the bottom corner from the right of goal.
Changes came and Storm continued the pressure - Vincent had immediate impact coming off the left with chances and with a cleaner strike would’ve taken Storm further into the lead.
Yusha & George both joined the field in defence - both were good on the ball with Yusha playing forward immediately and George playing the role of no nonsense defender - though some chances were conceded with Alfie making some brilliant saves to maintain his teams clean sheet - Storm conceded about 6-7 corners though looked solid in defending them.
Second half started with a bit of complacency. Reggie uncharacteristically put muscled by a towering target man had his shot fortuitously hit the post. A quick change saw George and Reggie come on to weather the Storm as George made a brilliant recovery tackle as the same number 9 went clean through.
As MSE looked the stronger pushing forward it was Reggie who got involved, making a solid interception at the back which fell to Jacob who played a brilliant through ball to Nathan to round the goal keeper for a brilliant counter attack.
James now clearly desperate to get involved in the goal scoring had a number of excellent shots, one mazy run and Nathan trying for his hattrick from an acute angle.
The goal did come from Arman who has taken to U10s like a duck to water, jinking round and popping a pass through to Jimmy who finished well with his left.
Nathan shortly after took a wonder shot cracking against the crossbar though finally storms provision of corners and dangerous kick ins counter as the ball wasn’t cleared for MSE to score.
Vince’s in goal for the second half - his distribution this game had been brilliant. A tactical shift in the last 10 saw storm play a target man of their own with Vince finding Alfie who brought the ball down, battled, shuffled the ball through to James who again put it away with his left foot.
Storm finished the stronger with Josh now in midfield having 3 shots on goal - 2 saved and one agonisingly wide.
Storm starting to hit form at the right time; very good showing from the team with a plethora of stand out performers.

Could have gone to anyone though *Josh* clinched it; played 3 different positions, as always on the front foot, strong in the tackle and excellent passing from the back.

Equal shouts for both *George* who despite a couple of shakey moments absolutely owned his role, cut out a number of danger situations and between him and Reggie quelled the danger from their big target man. Other votes went to *Jacob* who has been asked to play a bit more of a sitting role though has done it excellently - an assist and brilliant free kick

This was a much more competitive game than the scoreline reads.
Winton battled throughout and were very, very good. Each and every Tornado played to the absolute best of their ability however and that set them apart in what was possibly the Beechy side’s best performance of the season.
Tornadoes stood up to an incredibly physical team and done so in the right way, staying strong, staying positive and letting their football do the talking as they thwarted the opposition’s attacks and created incredible chances.
The standout component of the performance was having the composure to make the right pass at the right time.
Cormac: Made some great stops high and low, including nullifying a terrific free kick that was destined to be poked home at the back stick. Went outfield for the last section of the game and grabbed an assist. 10/10 performance and attitude.
Leo: Mr reliable. Highly effective both defensively and progressing up the pitch. Leo timed his tackles perfectly and forged a wonderful partnership with Jayden at the back, both communicating well. Key to the clean sheet. 10/10 performance and attitude.
Jayden: Best performance in a Beechy kit, made numerous last ditch tackles both left and right foot, clearances were always out to a Beechy winger, played passes through the lines to set Tornadoes on the front foot and blocked four strikes in the box and played with a determination and smile that make you delighted to be a coach. His penultimate action was to find the out ball to Arlo who went on to score, after great defensive work from Amir. Assist banked. His final action was a touching tribute to his teammates as he selected his proposed MOTMs. 10/10 performance and attitude.
Ellis: The central midfielder this game needed. Robust, calm and working box-to-box. When he worked it out to his wingers after drawing the press opportunities opened up time after time. Made some excellent second half saves. Distribution was per tactics, showing great discipline. 10/10 performance and attitude.
Oscar: Exceptional workrate down the right is a given each week from Oscar and has to be recognised as it gives the team so much. This game was no difference. Had a tough defensive he job on his hands but stuck to task. In attack his delivery was deadly. Created the best move of the match as he whipped in a beautiful ball to Adam who adjusted exceptionally to guide the ball towards goal, but the opposition keep somehow got a hand to it. 10/10 performance and attitude.
Amir: Admirable work for the team. Strong against some of the largest kids in the league, thwarted key attacks and selflessly found teammates time after time. Plays the beautiful game as it should be played. 10/10 performance and attitude.
Arlo: Goal, goal, goal, goal. A threat throughout playing as both a striker and then being deployed in central midfield grabbing two goals and half and creating opportunities. Exceptional variation in finishes. Helped by working back. Must find out what he had for breakfast so I can copy. 10/10 performance and attitude.
Adam: Wonderful hold up play to give the team a breather and become a conduit for turning defence into attack. Played a huge part in nearly scoring the goal of the season and capped off a great performance with a goal showing great positional awareness and footballing intelligence. 10/10 performance and attitude.
Ezra: Came on in an unfamiliar left wing position and looked so comfortable in attack timing his passes so well. Working back he battled against his counterparts so well, his centre half skills shinning through. A real warrior mentality as he played on after a couple of heavy challenges. The heart of a lion. 10/10 performance and attitude.
The game goes beyond results but Tornadoes should be proud of what they are achieving in 2026.

**Winton Devils v BEECHFIELD UTD U'9s LIGHTNING
In the SDJFL Blue Group Beechy U/9's Lightning were involved in a great mini-soccer game with Winton Devils. With the number of chances on offer Lightning should have won the game but they had to settle for a 2-2 draw. Finley Moran scored both goals for Beechy who's regular goalkeeper was unavailable due to an injury.
**BEECHFIELD UTD U8's STORM 8–0 Stretford Victoria Albion
Beechfield Storm delivered a ruthless and entertaining performance as they swept aside Stretford Victoria Albion with an emphatic 8–0 victory, extending their impressive unbeaten run in style.
The Sea Lions wasted no time asserting themselves, with Reni opening the scoring early on after a confident attacking move. That set the tone for what would become a one-sided affair.
Ollie quickly took control of the game, adding two more goals in quick succession to put Storm firmly in command. The attacking momentum didn’t stop there, as Ezra struck twice back-to-back, showcasing clinical finishing and making it five before the opposition could respond.
Ollie wasn’t finished yet—he completed a well-earned hat-trick with another composed finish, capping off a standout individual performance.
One of the highlights of the match came when Jaxx, usually a defensive presence, pushed forward and got on the scoresheet himself, adding to the growing tally and underlining the team’s all-round dominance.
With just one name left, the team rallied to get Louie his moment. Winning a free kick, the encouragement from teammates was clear—and Louie stepped up to deliver, calmly converting to complete the scoring and spark huge celebrations.
After every goal, the team proudly performed their pre-planned “Sea Lion dance,” bringing energy, unity, and plenty of smiles to the occasion.
At the other end, Daley ensured the clean sheet remained intact with several crucial saves, showing sharp reflexes and focus despite limited action for much of the game.
It was a complete team performance from Beechfield Storm—dominant in attack, solid in defence, and full of spirit throughout. With teamwork, confidence, and celebration at the heart of their play, the Sea Lions march on unbeaten.

First Half:
Flixton started quickly and found the net early, adding two more goals to put the Tornadoes under pressure.
Theo was kept busy in goal, making a number of important saves and a confident catch to keep the team in it.
Zane stood strong defensively, putting in key tackles and even launching a huge kick upfield to relieve pressure.
Gianluca and Noah both worked hard to close down attacks, while Rocco played a great pass and made a crucial clearance to stop a dangerous run.
Tornadoes responded well, with Eric scoring after good team play and later grabbing another following a Theo assist.
There was constant effort across the pitch with Gianluca driving forward and applying pressure.
Theo continued to make several saves, even managing to turn defence into attack with a quick restart.
Despite conceding again, Tornadoes kept pushing but went into the break trailing 5–2.
Second Half:
The second half was a completely different story, with Tornadoes taking control and putting Flixton under sustained pressure.
Theo, Eric and Gianluca all came close early on, forcing saves from the Flixton keeper.
Franklin stepped up with some important saves when needed, while Zane’s relentless pressure helped protect the goal and stop attacks before they developed.
Noah also put in a brilliant defensive effort to deny a clear chance.
Tornadoes created chance after chance, with great teamwork between Eric and Theo leading to a well-taken goal and Eric adding another with confident finishing.
The energy, pressing and attacking intent from the whole team meant most of the play was in Flixton’s half, with strong runs from Noah and Theo keeping the pressure on.
At the back, Franklin made more saves and Theo cleared danger well, although Flixton did manage to add a couple more goals and even hit the post.
Overall, Tornadoes dominated the second half and showed great determination, teamwork and effort throughout. Zane’s defensive performance was outstanding and fully deserved Player of the Match. There were plenty of positives, especially in how the team controlled the game after the break.

Another exciting game and local derby win against Moorside Goalscorers for Thunder Ronnie Green Hattrick Aldo Gannon Hatrick Parker Haworth two and Gideon James one, again another dominating performance showing a lot of resilience and composure on and off the ball a strong team effort again the work ethic through the roof and constantly applying pressure on the opposition and stopping them from playing, with the end of the season approaching Thunder hope to maintain there good run of form right up until finals day, a great effort from the boys two games in three days in hot conditions. Well done to our trophy winners Raurie Brassington George Lawson and Ronnie Green throughly deserved.

*BEECHFIELD UTD U12s TORNADOES 4-1 v Salford Town U12 Devils
We again had to switch our home match to the away ground due to the ongoing Beech Farm pitch issues. Salford are a side in a similar league position to us, and a side who we had never beaten before despite some really close games so we expected another tight affair on a gloriously sunny morning today.
There was nothing in the early exchanges, but Beechy took the lead in fortuitous circumstances when a Josh Green shot from the right was fumbled into the net by the Salford keeper. We thought the goal would spur us on but it had the opposite effect as Salford created a number of chances after we failed to clear our lines but they failed to hit the target despite 3 or 4 good opportunities. We went 2-0 up against the run of play when a Jack Sinclair long throw missed everyone in the box but Ryan Cordingley was on hand at the back post to slot home a cool finish into the bottom corner.
Still Salford attacked and they got a goal their play probably deserved with a similar goal to our 2nd off a throw in. We knew the next goal would be key and we got it with literally the last kick of the half when keeper Ty Dobson played a long ball through to Josh who beat the defender before finishing with precision into the bottom corner. 3-1 to Beechy at half time but in truth the score flattered us a bit.
At half time we spoke about being better organised and improving our concentration levels as we knew Salford would come at us again in the 2nd half. We were certainly more solid after the break and in a half of little clear cut chances for either team it was Beechy who sealed the points when a great effort from Jack Sinclair on the right was only half dealt with by the Salford keeper and that man Josh Green was at hand again to force home from close range to seal another hattrick, his 2nd in 3 games! Final score 4-1 to Beechy!
Not our best performance today, in truth we played much better v Salford in the cup a few weeks ago when we were unlucky to lose 1-0! But the lads were determined to get over the line today and we never really looked like letting our lead slip in a more solid 2nd half performance.
Player of the Match could have been Josh Green with another hat trick but we gave the award to Jack Costello who was tremendous at the back today, strong, tenacious and cool on the ball literally nothing got past him all day, a superb performance!
Another win for the improving Tornadoes, we continue our march up the table and with 4 games left to play we're looking up rather than down and are targeting a mid-table finish! 👊⚽️👕

🏆 END-TO-END THRILLER – DECIDED IN THE FINAL MINUTES
An exciting game from start to finish — one that could easily have gone the other way. The team lined up with Harry in goal, William in defence, and an attacking trio of Alvin, Samuel, and Jude.
The opening minutes were evenly contested, with chances for both sides. Moorside Rangers arguably had the clearer opportunities early on, but Beechfield struck first around the 8th minute. A classic moment from Alvin, reading the play, recovering the ball quickly, and finishing to give Beechfield the lead.
Following a series of changes, the team needed time to settle, and Moorside took advantage — scoring three consecutive goals, including a powerful free kick that found the top corner.
Before half-time, Beechfield responded strongly. The combination of Kevin and Julio proved decisive, linking up brilliantly for two well-worked goals, with Kevin providing excellent assists and Julio finishing clinically. The first half ended 3–3, with everything still to play for.
The second half started in Beechfield’s favour. Once again, Kevin’s creativity made the difference, delivering assists that allowed Alvin and Julio to score, pushing the team into the lead.
Moorside managed to pull one back, but Julio responded quickly with a great ball recovery and finish to restore the advantage.
Heading into the final minutes, Beechfield looked in control. However, Moorside found space in key areas and capitalised, scoring three late goals to turn the game around and secure a 7–6 victory.
A match full of attacking football, quality combinations, and valuable lessons. Despite the result, the performance showed that the team has the ability to compete strongly and create chances against any opponent.

Kevin & Julio — a decisive partnership in attack. Kevin’s vision and perfectly timed assists combined with Julio’s clinical finishing made them the standout performers and a constant threat throughout the match.

**BEECHFIELD UTD U/13's TORNADOES 5 v Crompton FC 3
The sign of a good team who aren’t playing particularly well but still get the result that we needed. Winning breeds confidence. We played some nice football BUT we over played at times trying to score the perfect goal… taking too many touches at times.
The lads have learned that the hardest position on the football pitch is GK….
Today we had Hudson do first half and Tom N in second half.
Thank you to them and well done for putting themselves forward to go in when I know they didn’t particularly want to. It’s all part of being in a team and doing the job.
Hopefully Harvey will be back in the next week or so! He will give us much more stability at the back and enable us to push on in games instead of giving away soft goals and giving the opposition a lift.
The squad is big and that itself can disrupt the flow of the game when changes are made. I’ll always try and be as fair as I can and still enable us to push on to compete and get the result.
Archie changed the game when he came on, he got us the first goal. Which I missed!
I do hope Chris recovers quickly from his ankle injury. Plenty of ice and support needed as he will be feeling frustrated. Hope to see him back soon! He’s a top player.
Motm today went to Lucio…. He upped the level in the second half with his quality, scored a great goal. Really proud of the player he’s becoming. He lets his football do the talking. Loved seeing him stick up for Archie when they decided to start on him. Great to see from your captain.
I’m proud of the lads, a pleasure to work with and a joy to watch. Let’s keep that winning momentum going and see where we end up!

It was a great confidence boost for the lads today. Yes the other team was lower in ability but we played some great football. The passing and moving was great to watch and all the boys were fighting together all the way to the end. They didn’t let the other team have a sniff of that game.
We told the lads that the game today was a cup game as the whole point of today was to give the kids a really good confidence boost and I think that worked.
Also I think the other teams coach is a bit delusional as he told me they were a medium abllity team and they clearly wasn’t but it was him who wanted to play us.
MOTM went to Carter and Henry who’s positioning and all round game today was fantastic. Both playing in every position and fighting until the end.

**BEECHFIELD UTD U/16's TORNADOES 22/4/2026 and 25/4/2026.
On Wednesday 22nd April 2026 the Tornadoes met Stretford Victoria Albion in a return Division 1 fixture in the Salford and Districts League. Beechy produced a top-class performance but lacked the goalscoring touch throughout the game and ended up on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline. Abdul Eltomseneen score the Tornadoes consolation goal. Three days later Beechy created another excellent all-round display in their home game with Monton Sports. Despite dominating the second half and having loads of chances the Boys just couldn't put the ball in the net and suffered a 2-0 defeat.
