POSTED: September 19 2018 11:57:05. By Richard James - TORNADOES V STRETFORD VICTORIA

Saturday 15th September, KO 12pm, Beech Farm, League.

Having played Stretford Vics several weeks earlier, in a friendly, I was expecting another extremely close contest.

However, for their first league fixture of the campaign, the lads really raised the bar. Concentration levels on the whole were good, as was awareness of team shape and positions.

Everybody performed to an excellent standard and nobody was found wanting. Richard and I were especially impressed with the defensive aspect of the game, where Stretford were reduced to very few chances. The boys really played as a team and that showed in the goals for and goals against columns!

Going forward too there was some smashing football with lots of intelligent passing and some terrific goals.

On target for the Tornadoes were Stewart Kay, Josh Beddows with a brace, and Bailey Breeze with his first ever goal for the club!

All the boys were superb on the day, but just edging the MOTM award was Dylan Courtney who was superb as the last line of defence, making sure that the Vics were limited to very few meaningful scoring opportunites.

Well done lads, a great start to the season!
Oscar
