Sunday 22nd October, Beech Farm, KO 10am, League.

Talk about having a depleted team! We were down to the bare bones here, with 5 players making it for this Blue Division encounter.

Amazingly, we got off to a cracking start when Jack found the net after some good endeavour from Dylan.

However, that was to be the high point as South Manchester turned on the style and put the game out of sight by half time.

In mitigation, we were ravaged by sickness, absences as well as some frightening injuries on the day. In fact at one stage we only had three players physically able to play, such was the gravity of the situation.

Therefore, to keep playing and create several decent chances is testament to the character of our team.

Alas though it just wasn't to be our day. On another day our shots that hit the woodwork, or went narrowly wide, would have found the net. The opposition's hopeful punts, from the halfway line, would have sailed over the bar rather than just dipping under at the last second.

Overall then, in context, not a bad showing that saw Alfie picking up the MOTM trophy, despite being sick in Mass that morning.
