POSTED: October 11 2017 12:12:23. By Oscar Courtney - U8 TORNADOES V URMSTON U8 STORM

Saturday 7th October, Beech farm, KO 12pm, League.

Once again, this was another spectacular rollercoaster chapter in the history of the Tornadoes v Urmston Storm matches. Another 12 goal thriller with the Tornadoes falling agonisingly close again. Urmston just seem to be one of those teams that we match in every department, yet they seem to always just do enough to edge the game!

And so the blueprint was set and followed just as the script dictated. Urmstom stormed in to an early lead and were practically out of sight before we started to get in to the game, with Alfie and Daire netting before the break.

The resumption of hostilities saw us caught cold again as we conceded twice more. Coupled with the fact that Oliver had to go off injured and Flinn had to move in to nets, our prospects in the game certainly started to look very bleak.

However, therefore, the lads deserve some fantastic credit for mounting the comeback that they did. Flinn was superb in nets, shutting Urmston out for the remainder of the game. Flinn's endeavour then was the platform for the rest of the boys to go on a rampage and score 3 more goals without reply, giving the scoreline a more respectable and fairer hue. Stewart, Daire and Jack all scored great goals as once again we ran out of time! But for an extra 5 minutes or so, I'd say we'd have pinched a draw.

MOTM went to Stewart for brilliant, hard working and energetic display.

Oscar.
