Wednesday 16th May, Wellbeck Road, KO 18:30, League.

Looking ahead to next season, the Monton manager and I elected to play this game as a 7 a side match. This meant that the lads got a good run out and plenty of playing time.

On a brilliant surface, and a lovely evening to boot, the Tornadoes set about their task with relish.

The passing was again superb. The movement off the ball again mostly good. There were some patches of play where the boys chased the ball, or forgot their positions, but on the whole it was an excellent performance against a good footballing side.

What pleased me most about the display though was the determination of the lads, their will to win and their effort to compete for very ball. That positive attitude really shone through!

The boys' solidity, along with good tactical discipline from George and Dylan, in defence, gave the team the platform to start and put passing moves together. This in turn ultimately lead to us notching 3 goals, all courtesy of Alfie!

And whilst it's goals that win matches it's also important to defend well. Therefore, high praise to the defensive unit, particularly Oliver, for keeping a third clean sheet of the season.

Other stand out performers were Stewart; who can play practically anywhere and has an engine to match, Daire for excellent link play and passing vision and Flinn who was always looking to move the ball quickly to a team mate. Logan too got involved in the play and made a good contribution, along with Dylan. George was of course, as strong as ever, and is the bedrock of the whole team.

However, for some magical finishing and a brilliant all round display the MOTM had to go to Alfie.

Well done everyone!
Oscar
