Saturday 13th May, Beech Farm, KO 11am, League.

Although the scoreline looks like we registered an emphatic victory, I don't think it does the match any justice.

In the first period, Swinton really pushed us hard and defended extremely well, as well as creating quite a few opportunities for themselves. Although we did have most of the possession, and most of the chances, there were quite a few scary moments. But for a last ditch tackle by George, or a crucial save by Daire, we could have been in big
trouble.

As it was, we managed to end the half in front after some good passing saw Jack and Stewart put us ahead with some excellent goals.

The second half saw the Tornadoes pick up where we left off and finally the pressure yielded results as Stewart found the net again, along with Alfie (hat trick) and Daire.

Daire's passing play was particularly impressive, as was his goal, which involved a lovely run up the left wing before cutting inside, to beat the defender, and dispatch a great pass/shot with his right foot, in to the far corner of the net. A really intelligent goal from a rapidly developing player this season.

So, all in all a great team performance which was extremely pleasing on the eye considering the way the boys passed the ball around. Flinn, Daire and Dylan were especially prominent in this department. However, for his umpteenth hat trick of the season the MOTM award was given to Alfie Lacey.

Oscar.
