- Tough to take
Abraham Moss Warriors 3 - 1 Typhoon
Well, at least we’ve been ahead in a game now 😕
Typhoon didn’t start very well on an amazing 4G pitch and needed sweeper Peter to come to the rescue far too many times. Pete spotted the problem and we moved Freddie back to right back where he shored things up and ultimately produced a man of the match display. We gained the upper hand and were delighted to score and get ahead. Daniel intercepted a clearance, passed through to Joseph who finished superbly. Gone are the days when he couldn’t score. Unfortunately that’s not the same for Jamie who can’t buy a goal! He played really well but nothing is coming off for him. A fantastic effort was met by an even better save and crucially we didn’t extend our lead. Then followed our trademark mad 10 minutes where we lost 3 goals in quick succession. It could have been worse but for a great save from Peter. Credit to the boys they shook themselves down and really started to play with intensity. A shuddering (but completely legal) tackle from Milo knocked the confidence from their centre forward. Hard as we tried we couldn’t find a way through to get back in the game. Sam and Joseph really upped their games, Harley had to be fouled just outside the box as he marauded forward but Charlie hit the wall with the free kick and it just wasn’t to be.
So another setback and another defeat when on another day it could have been a win. The boys were very downhearted after but they can be proud of their attitude and their efforts to get back into the game. What we want to see is that intensity for the full sixty minutes.
