- Thunder v (fives athletic, cadishead sports)
Beechy had two fixture this week fives athletic in the league and cadishead junior sports in the county cup.
Thunders poor form continued on a weekend where yet again we struggled to put out a balanced team due to injuries and players away on holiday.
At home to fives athletic in the league. Beechy defended poorly to conceded 3 soft goals in the first 20 minutes.
Beechfield, more organised in the second half got a goal back courtesy of Harvey walker who showed some great strength in the central midfield by wining the ball back for his team.
Unfortunately for beechy fives hit straight back and took the score to 1-4. Reiss miller was on target for beechy as they tried to get back into the game some great chances were created but, what seems like an all too familiar phrase. Beechy failed to capitalise on numerous chances while fives put theirs away. Final score 2-5.
Thunder, playing for the first time in the county cup had an easy passage to the 3rd round, not even kicking a ball as they were given 2 byes.
Against a well organised team; cadishead junior sports. Beechy were out matched in almost every position. Beechys new keeper james Quinn-allcock, playing in only his second competitive game was the stand out player for Thunder.
I have added a link to our page with past fixtures in the county cup. Although no manager should be happy losing 0-10 this result is not uncommon in the county cup where total miss matches do occur. The above link was from round 2.
