Well a lovely summer's day kept us nice and warm for the curtain raiser to the new season. If only, wasn't it awful?
Anyway, despite struggles to get a team out, thank you Reece and Josh, the boys all played very well.
The first game was a close fought game against the hosts, which we won 3-1 courtesy of a brace by Jamie and a belter from Reece.
Things got harder after that and it was an impressive backs to the wall effort in the second game. Despite being overrun at times a combination of magnificent keeping from our player of the tournament Peter and last ditch tackling we kept it scoreless for long enough to worry their coach. 2-0 at the end was a fine effort. The final game was a little similar but the scoreline would have been much closer without conceding a few sloppy goals. we did break out for Cole to finish a fine move off.
The supplementary game was another close affair. Sale moved out to a somewhat misleading 3-0 lead but a fine comeback with Ronan scoring at the double almost pegged them back.
Overall, we can be pretty happy and hopefully we should improve after we get a few matches under our belt.
