POSTED: December 02 2015 11:47:09. By Oscar Courtney - U11s Tornadoes V St Andrew's All Stars

Saturday 3rd October 2015, Beech Farm, KO 10am.

For the second time in 4 weeks the Tornadoes lined up against a strong St Andrew's outfit. Playing up hill, in the first half, the Tornadoes started quite well and created several chances with Brandon Wabayi desperately unlucky to hit the post. Sadly the Tornadoes ran out of steam and started to fall behind in the game. However, the second half saw a renewed vigour from the Tornadoes and some excellent displays of fighting spirit. Parents were treated to an excellent corner from Ronan Courtney which saw Joe Hope executing a fine full volley. Joe's technique was then matched by Ronan who, later in the half, went on a fine solo run culminating in a well placed shot which saw the St Andrew's keeper beaten at his near post. Overall the Tornadoes did well and improved on their first meeting with St Andrew's but they'll need to concentrate for the full 60 minutes and cut out the needless mistakes if they're going to get positive results this season. Special mentions must go Max Chidgey, who was carrying a bad injury, but still managed to test the keeper and to Sam Jones for showing great maturity during the match. Also Tom Williams and Brandon Wabayi who are starting to show good leadership qualities. However, MOTM went to the Captain, Ronan (pictured), who battled hard all match and got rewarded for a brilliant run, which saw him score a very memorable goal.
