- De La Salle u11 Reds v U11 Tornadoes
Saturday 28th May 2016, Lancaster Road, KO 9.00am.
There has been no doubt that each game against De La Salle Reds has been testing for the boys as they've gotten closer and closer to them each time. This time the Tornadoes finally met the challenge head on and walked away with a fantastic, hard earned victory. As we all know, football matches don't win themselves and the Tornadoes proved that they can face down experienced, formidable campaigners, keep our nerve, battle hard, compete for every ball and introduce a bit of class to win a match. From what I heard, this was a consumate performance that had everything - team work, effort, tough tackling, good decision making and something a bit special! Full marks then to everyone for their efforts in our final match of the season. According to Ricky, the whole defence was solid with Jamie Butterworth and Will Whipday impressing especially. The midfield were the heartbeat of the team with Brandon Wabayi deservedly getting the MOTM award and once again the strike force created countless chances. However, the free kick was truly wonderful as Joe Hope with excellent vision played a perfectly weighted ball for Alan Kay to run on to and smash in to the De La Salle net. A piece of brilliance that gave the Tornadoes the victory they craved and ultimately deserved. A perfect end to a season of substantial growth and progress. Enjoy the Summer!
