So the rain held off just enough but the pitch wasn't great. Prestwich had beaten us recently in the cup and denied us a place in the next round so plenty of motivation for the team.
The game was pretty tight to start off with, not many chances for either team. We were unlucky to fall behind, a Prestwich shot told a wicked deflection off a head and looped towards the bottom corner of Woodys goal, we couldn't clear and Prestwich poked the ball in to take the lead. So we find ourselves behind again. We started to play a bit better now, the team were playing some nice little passes in triangles that we've been working on in training. Zane involved in a lot of this. Still chances were hard to come, Prestwich are very organised and don't give much away. But we've got Kyle Stafford, and as he was put through the keeper came off his line and before we had the chance to shout 'chip him' he'd already dinked the ball like a golf pro with a wedge over the keeper to bring us level. Just a quality finish. Not long after it was the same scenario, surely Kyle couldn't pull off another finish like the last one. Myself and Nathan looked at each other and I said 'He's done it again' as he chipped the keeper for a second time. This kid is what we've been after and we're not letting him go ;)
2-1 at half time and Kyles finishing being the difference between the teams.
Second half was tight again, a few changes had been made, Will was back and had given our workhorse Josh a rest, he looked like he'd never been away and has still got that great touch and vision. Leo had come on for Robert and never stopped running, you can see how much he wants to do well for the team and that's what he did. Demi was also on, and she made a big impact on the team by playing wide on the left and stretching Prestwich a bit more, on a few occasions she collected the ball in our half and raced down the line or cut inside and then found a teammate, she was looking like the Demi we always see in training. The game was still tight, Prestwich breaking a bit more an we had a few occasions where Liam was on his own in a 1 on 1, our young Maldini didn't lose 1 battle tho this lad knows how to defend, another great display by the captain.
Both teams trying to attack a bit more and as Robert collected the ball on the edge of the area, he hit a great shot that hit the post and when Prestwich failed to clear, the ball crossed the line to give us a 2 goal cushion. David tried to claim it but I think it came of a Prestwich player.
So another win and a bit of payback for Prestwich.
Yet again the whole squad contributed, and I honestly believe there's even more to come from this team. Great performsnces from Zane, Demi, Liam and Kyle. And if any opposition keeper reads this then I'd suggest you stay on your line or you're getting chipped mate!!!

Well done everyone, lets keep this going
