POSTED: February 16 2016 11:12:33. By Dave Wood - Ladybridge Lions v Beechfield Tornadoes

It was a freezing wind blowing across the Ladybridge pitch. Beechfield came out with all guns blazing after having had very few matches this season. With keeper Ben Davies out with an injury , Lewis Wallis deputised in goal and was definitely up to the task . His bravery stopped at least one certain goal.
The teams passing was a bit hit and miss on a very tight pitch. The Ladybridge team defended like lions at times but it was the hard working Charlie Mulvenna who broke the deadlock with some superb skill. The Ladybridge keeper put on a great display to keep Beechfield at bay and at the other end the steely Beechfield defence of Jack Fitton and Harley Kirk kept the lions quiet . The hard work of the Beechfield wingers Adam Wood and Charlie also meant Beechfield defended in numbers. Time and time again the skillful forward pairing of Kayden McClean and Harley Davidson gave the lions defence a tough time with some mesmerising play. Being rewarded in the second half with 3 goals from Harley and superb assists .Oliver Lomas fought hard to win challenges playing on both wings . Over all a pleasing display in difficult conditions. MOM went to Kayden for possibly his best overall performance in a sky blue shirt.
Thanks to the parents who braved the arctic conditions to cheer the team on.
