Back in action in the North Bury Junior League were Beechfield United Under 17’s and despite a much improved performance United lost 3-2 at home to Radcliffe Borough Crusaders. Following a couple of defensive errors Beechy trailed 2-0 at half time though United battled back and reduced the arrears with a goal from Sam Bolton but after another piece of poor defending Beechy gifted the Crusaders a 3-1 lead. United continued to dictate the pace of the game and were rewarded when Man of the Match Jack Williams was on target with the second goal. On the balance of play Beechy definitely deserved at least a draw.

Earning themselves a narrow 2-1 victory were the Under 16’s team. In the Timperley and District Junior League United’s opponents were South Manchester Sports and Beechy collected the three points thanks to an impressive display and goals from Callum Frier and Tom Haslem. Named as Best Player was Patrick Dennison.

Celebrating only their second victory of the season were the Under 15’s Tornadoes who enjoyed a 4-1 away win over Boothstown FC Eagles. In the 1st Round of the Players Cup Travis Walker (2) Mason White and Kieran Alley scored the goals for the Tornadoes who could easily have won by a greater score line.

At home to Lymm Piranhas the Under 14’s Storm suffered a 6-0 defeat in the Salford and District Football League. United’s Man of the Match Award went to Tom Cox.

Goals by Joe Staley (3) and Ben Cunliffe earned the Under 12’s Tornadoes (9v9) a 4-3 victory over neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellow. Thomas Anderson received the Best Player Award and the Tornadoes who have now scored ten goals in their last two games moved up one place in the Division 3 table.

Retaining their unbeaten record were the Under 12’s Storm (9v9) who had to work hard for their 2-1 home win against Parkwyddn Predators. The visitors were the better team for long periods of the match but a fifth successive victory ensured Beechy remained on top of the Division 1 table. There was a slow start to the match and as United struggled to retain possession taking control Parkwyddn won a penalty but the spot-kick was missed. Keeping the pressure on Storm the visitors grew in confidence and United’s keeper and Man of the Match James O’Donnell was in action making some top-class saves. However it was Beechy who took the lead with a well taken goal by defender Kai Morris who showed great composure in the area. The second half began as the first had ended with Parkwyddn displaying more composure on the ball as United struggled to find their rhythm. A superb free kick taken by George Moorhouse put the Storm 2-0 up but via a free kick Parkwyddn reduced the arrears therefore putting the pressure back onto Beechy. Keeping their shape and discipline United dealt comfortably with some late pressure and kept the winning run intact.

The Under 11’s Tornadoes (9v9) had a cup game against Deans Youth Panthers and though Beechy lost by five goals the score line didn’t do justice to their fine performance. The Man of the Match Honour went Jamie Butterworth.

In their cup tie with Urmston Town Devils the Under 11’s Storm (9v9) shared six goals. On target in normal time were Finley Irwin, Damion Broughton and Adam Rothwell and Beechy eventually won the match following a penalty shoot-out.

At home to Deans Tigers the Under 11’s Thunder produced another solid all-round performance. Beechy were quick off the mark and dominating the opening fifteen minutes were two goals up courtesy of Jake O’Sullivan. Then Louie Percival took advantage of a mistake by the Deans keeper and scored a great goal to put United firmly in control. It was difficult to define who accurately got the final touch on the ball regarding Thunder’s next goal (only Jacob Lacey and Harvey Walker know the answer) A well worked move and great finish resulted in a goal for Deans Tigers which was rightly applauded and despite conceding a few more goals Beechy responded superbly with a goal from Samuel Oludoyi. In defence Taonga Mututa gave a man of the Match performance alongside Samuel Oludoyi.

Expecting a tough away game with Winton Wanderers the Under 10’s Tornadoes had just seven players available but no substitutes. Theo Valentine was back in defence to partner Harley Kirk and they were more than a match for the Winton attack. The first half was fairly even with Beechy playing the better football and creating more chances. Kaiden McLean had scored for United but Winton were level at the break and the home side added a second goal one minute after the restart. The setback didn’t worry the Tornadoes who quickly took control and forced some great saves from the Winton keeper. Two well taken corners by Charlie Mulvenna resulted in a couple of goals for Harley Davidson one a stunning header and the other a volley. Both wingers Charlie and Adam Wood worked tirelessly throughout the match and Adam got his reward with a goal towards the end.

Josh Everall scored a consolation goal for the Under 10’s Storm in their home game with Deans Sports. Receiving the Man of the Match Award was Tawonga Chirwa.

Ace goalscorer Sonny O’Brien netted four goals for the Under 9’s Typhoon in their Sunday morning cup fixture at South Manchester FC. Freddie Latham was rock-solid at the heart of the defence and Milonga Mututa capped an industrious Man of the Match display with his first goal for the team.

A penalty kick decider was required in the Under 9’s Hurricanes versus Parkwyddn Predators cup tie. Georgi Georgiev was on target for the Hurricanes in normal time and Beechy won the shoot-out with Man of the match Dominic Roaden scoring the winning penalty.

Local rivals Moorside Rangers Red were the Under 9’s Storm’s opponents in the Challenge Cup. Beechy who won the match thanks to goals via Freddie Jackson and Josh McLoughlin named Cole Winstanley as their Star Player. There was an excellent display by goalkeeper James Wharton.

Following their home game with Winton Wanderers the Under 9’s Lightning players celebrated their first win of the season. Beechy hit four goals courtesy of Man of the Match William Anderton, Sam Henderson and David Ollidoy.

Beechy Under 8’s Storm lost a close fought contest with Monton Sports JFC. A brilliant performance from keeper Jack Hanbury was rewarded with the Best Player Award and United star striker Joshua Kilfoyle scored all four goals.

Playing twice within twenty four hours were the Under 7’s Tornadoes who’s Saturday match was against De La Salle Reds. The teams shared ten goals and on target for Beechy were Man of the Match Jacob Kershaw-Shilling, Fletcher Jackson and Harry Jones. United’s Sunday fixture with Moorside Rangers Green had been brought forward. Sharing the Man of the Match Accolade were Reece Cartwright and Josh Jemmet.

At home to Swinton Junior Panthers in the Development Group Red Division Beechy Under 7’s Hurricanes scored a couple of goals via Lexi Hiles and Player of the Match Ethan Harris.
