Following a 5-3 home win over Unicorn Athletic Panthers the in-form Beechfield United Under 15's Sunday team remained unbeaten in the Timperley and District League. In this Division 4 fixture United raced into a commanding 5-1 lead at half time but the visitors produced a brief comeback in the second period reducing the arrears to two goals. But Beechy's players kept a cool head and earning the three points moved up to sixth place in the table. Charlie McGreevy who was making his debut was named Man of the Match and goals for United were scored by Charlie Wallwork (2) Jack Broadie, Fearnley Davies and Jack Thompson.
On Saturday morning the Under 15's Tornadoes fought out a 2-2 draw with Parkwyddn JFC at Stott Lane. The teams were level 1-1 at the break in this Bolton Bury and District League Section D encounter. Goals for the Tornadoes came via Jack Broadie and Mathew Bennett while Josh Allen received the Man of the Match award.
Dominating their North Bury Junior Football League Main Cup game against Littleborough Stripes the Under 14's Thunder went goal crazy and hit double figures in this 2nd Round tie. Man of the Match was defender Dominic Lawton who had a great game and goal scorers for Thunder were Prince Idusuyi (4) Jake O'Sullivan (2) William Whipday (2) Callum Snaith and Louie Percival. Beechy were 4-1 up at the break and scored another six goals in the second half that earned them a 10-1 victory.
The Under 14's Tornadoes were also away in the NBJFL to Bridge Eagles but Beechy lost this Division 2 match 5-3. Goals for the Tornadoes were a twenty yard screamer from Man of the Match Tommy Roberts, a fantastic surging run from Max Chidgey and a good finish by Tom Critchley after superb link-up play between James Donohue and Andrew Woodward.
In the Salford and Districts League the Under 13's Tornadoes faced Division 1 leaders Stretford Victoria at Beech Farm. During the first half the Beechy boys matched their opponents and had a few decent chances but it remained 0-0 at half time. But after the visitors had gone 2-0 up the Tornadoes lost their focus and momentum and United eventually lost the match 5-0.
Goals by David Olidoy (2) Jake Barrington (2) and Kyle Stafford earned the Under 12's lightning (9v9) a second successive high scoring victory. Beechy beat Ladybridge Pumas 5-0 following this Division 3 home game.
Now playing at SSV are the Under 12's Storm (9v9)and they met De La Salle for a Division 1 fixture. Producing a stunning performance Beechy created moments of quality football with some dazzling wing play from Josh McLoughlin and Reilly Happy. United were solid in both defence and midfield and there was the added bonus of a clean sheet. Goalkeeper George Heywood was rarely in action and goals for the Storm in a 7-0 win came courtesy of Josh McLoughlin (4) Harry Backhouse (2) and Reilly Happy.
Unable to maintain last weeks high standard performance Beechy Under 12's Typhoon were beaten at home by Abraham Moss Warriors. For the second successive Saturday goalkeeper Peter Ellis was named Man of the Match. The Typhoon who lost this Division 2 match 7-2 netted consolations goals via Ronan Mullen and Daniel Hesketh.
Oliver Cowley who plays for the Under 11's Storm (9v9) team created what could be an all time club record in the Green Group away game with Cadishead Town. In the Storm's first four games of the season Oliver has scored four consecutive hat-tricks and his goals treble against Cadishead helped Beechy win the match. Grace Belcher was the Storm's Player of the Match and also on target with the other goals were Andrew AcKernley and Coby Cleary.
There was a late change of venue regarding the Under 11's Tornadoes (9v9) Blue Group away game against De La Salle. But the 4G Astro pitch at Ordsall Leisure Centre didn't stop the Tornadoes from producing another stylish display and leaving with a well deserved victory. Making a quick and bright start Beechy took the lead through leading goal scorer Finley Fairhurst who's composure on the pitch as already netted him more than a dozen goals so far this season. The Tornadoes doubled their lead when Finley Fairhurst was on target again but De La Salle soon reduced the arrears. Lucas Walker scored Beechy's third goal via a low shot from the right side of the area that left the hosts keeper stranded. United were on the attack when the second half kicked-off and it was Joel Thorndyke who fired in the fourth goal his reward for a solid midfield display. Sam Rowbotham who had replaced Finley Fairhurst was quickly involved in the action causing De La Salle all sorts of problems and he gave the Tornadoes a commanding lead with goal number five. A well directed header that wrong footed Beechy keeper Freddie Wardle gave De La Salle their second goal. This was a brilliant all-round performance from the Tornadoes who's Man of the Match award went to central defender Alfie Walker following a dominant display.
The stormy weather conditions played a major part in the Under 10's Lightning Green Group away game at De La Salle Devils. Play was evenly balanced in the early stages with both teams looking very effective going forward. There was another great performance for Beechy goalkeeper Jake Lewis but despite another vastly improved display Lightning lost the match that was played in totally the right spirit. Sean Cosgrove (Hat-Trick) and Charlie Bell got the goals and the best display in a Beechy shirt came from defender Matthew Elliott who collected the Man of the Match accolade. Lightning's squad for the game was as follows: Jake Lewis, Sean Cosgrove, Nicholas Ainscough, Matthew Elliott, Charlie Green, Charlie Bell, Jai Devani-White (Captain) Alfie Latham, Tyler Candland, Presley Smith.
Maintaining their impressive winning start in the Salford and Districts League were Beechy Under 10's Hurricanes. Playing away against Deans Youth Panthers in the Yellow Group the Hurricanes made it five wins on the trot. In another terrific all-round performance Alfie Rostron (hat-trick) and Man of the Match Daniel Robinson got the goals that secured Beechy a comfortable victory.
Back in league action were the Under 10's Tornadoes who's opponents in this Blue Group away fixture were Boothstown Falcons. Mark Rowbotham the Tornadoes Manager said this was great game to watch as his team produced some good passing and battled until the final whistle. There was a fantastic penalty save by keeper Asa Brown and goal scorers that guaranteed a win for the Tornadoes were Ebosele Oguname, George Rowbotham and Ethan Harris. Man of the Match went to Mycah Camilleri.
A second half hat-trick by Stewart Kay who also collected the Man of the Match award was the highlight of the Under 9's Tornadoes Green Group home game at Beech Farm with Winton Spartans. The Beechy boys have made a decent start to the season following some very impressive performances.
At home to Swinton JFC Sharks the Under 9's Lightning celebrated their first win of the season. Man of the Match Broadie Mundy and Jeano Baker shared the goals and Lightning were delighted to have Deenraj Singh fit and playing again after a long lay off. Some exceptional passing football paved the way towards this fully deserved Beechy victory in the Yellow Group.
Faced with an early kick off for their Sunday morning match were the Under 8's Storm players. The Blue Group home game with South Manchester Sports produced a total of sixteen goals and seven goals for Ryden Coward earned him the Storm's Man of the Match award. Asked to tackle higher up the pitch in the second half by Beechy boss Martin Wardle the lads definitely followed those instructions and responded with eleven goals.
Showing an overall improvement within the team were Beechy Under 7's who played Flixton Junior Lions. Goalkeeper and Man of the Match Jacob Wood was brilliant in the first half, making some excellent saves. Daniel Wharton was tenacious throughout making numerous great tackles and forward runs. Once again Aiden Gadwell produced a solid defensive display and look dangerous when attacking with the ball.
