POSTED: November 23 2018 12:14:52. By Keith Long - Utd Frustrated After Second Successive Defeat

Involved in a tough game played on a small pitch were Beechfield United Saturday Morning Senior Team who lost their second match of the season. United's Division 1 away game against Eastlands FC was a hard fought ninety minutes that ended with Beechy suffering a 3-1 defeat. In a very tight first half the teams cancelled each other out leaving the score line 0-0 at the break. United made a great start to the second half when they took the lead after a corner taken by Scott Foulds was headed home by John Bolton but instead of finding a settled rhythm and building on their lead Beechy conceded an equaliser five minutes later.

Within another five minutes United were 2-1 down when some poor defending allowed the Eastlands left winger enough time on the ball to fire it past the keeper on his near post. The teams continued to be well-matched and United worked non-stop to try and find another goal to get back level. Continually committed to all-out attack Beechy were caught cold when following a breakaway move Eastlands scored their third goal to wrap up the three points. (17th November 2018)
