Once again the wet weather forced the postponement of all games scheduled for grass pitches involving Beechfield United’s Junior Section teams but six games did take place on both Saturday and Sunday and they were all played on Artificial pitches.

Beechfield United Under 15’s Predators found themselves holding a four point lead at the top of the JFC Sports Division following their 3-1 home win over Youth Kicks. To guarantee this Tameside Football League fixture went ahead Beechy switched the match to Stretford Sports Leisure Centre and the decision proved to be the right one. On a 3G Astro pitch the Predators were well on top in the first half and held a 3-0 lead at the break. Youth Kicks got their consolation goal midway in the second half but any hopes of a total comeback never materialised. Goalscorers for Beechy were Brandon Kent with a contender for goal of the season , Jamie Pollitt via a wonder strike and Joseph Lydiate who scored courtesy of an easy finish. Man of the Match was Denford Dzvene.

Also in the Development Group Purple Division the Under 9’s Storm were involved in a twelve goal thriller with De La Salle Red. For the second time in seven days the Under 8’s Tornadoes took advantage of booking a pitch at the JJB Soccer Dome. Promoted to the Red Division the Tornadoes were at home to Flixton Junior Jets and Beechy took the lead with a well worked goal. Some great football was played by both teams and the match was highly entertaining from start to finish. The in-form Under 8’s Hurricanes produced another dazzling high scoring display in their Development Group Yellow encounter with AFC Monton White.
