- Junior Section Match Details 10th/11th Dec 16
In the Timperley and District Junior League Beechfield United Under 17's suffered their third successive home defeat when they lost 1-0 to Altrincham Junior Tigers who are currently leaders of the Youth Bundesliga Division. The visitors winning goal arrived in the second half but Beechy had enough chances to have forced at least a draw. Ben Dargon was voted Man of the Match.
After securing three vital points the Under 16's Tornadoes went back to the top of the Section C table following a 3-1 away win over Bolton United. In this Bolton Bury and District League fixture the teams were level 1-1 at the break but the Tornadoes took control in the second period and after adding two more goals celebrated a fully deserved victory. Goals for Beechy came courtesy of Tom Nelson, Harry Cottrill and Mason White.
Several key players were unavailable due to illness and injury for the Under 16's Predators away game at Wilmslow Town Cougars. A goal by Liam Egerton gave Beechy the lead but Wilmslow Town equalised via a penalty and the teams shared a 1-1 score line at half time. The match remained highly competitive throughout the second half and after being awarded a second penalty from the resulting spot-kick Wilmslow Town went 2-1 up. The home side held their lead until the final whistle and inflicted a rare defeat on a disappointed Predators outfit. The Predators Star Player was Denford Dzvene.
Despite having a squad of seventeen players only eleven were available for the Under 14's Tornadoes away fixture with Ringley Park Rangers. The opening fifteen minutes produced some scrappy football from both teams but things improved especially for Beechy who took the lead via Derryn Harrison. The Tornadoes then took control and added a second goal through Ben Grattix and minutes later Jeanny Le Blanc powered his way past two defenders and his accurate finish put United 3-0 up. Ringley Park got a goal back just after half time but the Tornadoes quickly regained their three goal advantage after Jeanny Le Blanc was on target again with his second goal of the game for 4-1. A magnificent volley from Ademola Olasanya added United's fifth goal before Ringley Park earned themselves another goal after some slack Tornadoes defending. The set back was easily forgotten as Beechy almost immediately dominated possession again and after twice being denied by the Ringley keeper Leighton White scored a very good goal giving United a comfortable four goal lead. Thanks to an audacious finish Ellis Taylor completed the scoring and round-off a convincing performance by the Tornadoes. Final score Ringley Park Rangers 2 v Beechy Tornadoes 7.
There were goals galore in the Under 12's Tornadoes (9v9) fixture against Stretford Victoria. At Beech Farm the teams produced a twelve goal thriller but it was the visitors who won the match 7-5. Beechy who trailed 4-2 at the interval played much better in the second half. Goals for the Tornadoes came via Alan Kay (2) Sam Jones, Joe Hope and Man of the Match Ronan Courtney.
In action on Sunday morning were Beechy Under 12's Storm (9v9) who had a Division 1 away game at Manchester Maccabi Galaxy. A solitary goal in the first half proved to be a match winner for Maccabi. Dominating the second half United created an abundance of chances but they couldn't supply the finish to force at least a draw. Joe Newton received the Man of the Match Award.
Away to Deans Tigers the Under 12's Thunder played some good football in the first half of this Division 2 contest but were not clinical when scoring chances were on offer. As Beechy dominated possession it was one way traffic towards the Deans goal but the home side re-grouped in the second period and enjoyed more of the ball. Deans took the lead then five minutes later Beechy equalised thanks to Harvey Walker but via a swift counter-attack Deans edged 2-1 ahead. Keeping the pressure on their opponents Beechy worked hard to find a second equaliser that never arrived. It was inevitable if Thunder didn't take their chances Deans would take theirs and the home side again on the counter-attack added three more goals in the last quarter-hour. Dominic Lawton put in a vigorous performance and was Beechy's Best Player in their 5-1 defeat.
The Under 11's Tornadoes (9v9) played a Friendly Match against neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellow. Goalkeeper Lewis Wallis was the Tornadoes Star Player and in a match that included seven goals. On target for Beechy were Bradley Oliver, Charlie Mulvenna and Oliver Lomas.
Also involved in a Friendly Match were the Under 11's Storm (9v9) who's opponents were Barr Hill Cubs. The Beechy boys dictated the game and were rewarded with an emphatic victory. Man of the Match Kaiden McClean, Oliver Lawton and Jake Manion scored the goals.
Despite being the better side in their Dragons Division away game at Prestwich Marauders the Under 10's Hurricanes never held the lead. Beechy who recovered to earn a respectable draw netted goals through Josh Clough, Georgi Georgiev and Man of the Match Harley Mullen.
United's Under 10's Typhoon conceded an early goal in their Friendly Match with local rivals Moorside Rangers Blue but playing some great football United deserved to get back on level terms. But after going two goals down the Typhoon never recovered and struggled in the second half against a very good Rangers outfit. Joseph Bothamley who produced a committed and skilful display didn't deserve to be on the losing side.
Injuries to several players affected team selection prior to the Under 10's Storm versus Salford United Reds Friendly Match. Beechy created a highly polished performance and deserved their narrow victory. Harry Backhouse and Freddie Jackson fired in the goals for the Storm.
Josh Rotherham was voted the U/8's Tornadoes Man of the Match following the away game against Moorside Rangers Yellow. Goals from Harvey Riva and George Rowbotham secured the Tornadoes a well-earned win.
Moorside Rangers also provided the opposition for a Friendly Match with Beechy Under 8's Storm. Goalscorers for United who found the winning formula were Man of the Match Euan Whitney, Henry Jones, Harry Jones and Fletcher Jackson.
The Under 7's Tornadoes had a practice match against a Beechy Under 7's X1. Some excellent football was played by both teams who between them sored a total of thirteen goals. On target for the Tornadoes were Alfie Lacey, Dylan Courtney, Flinn Rogers and Man of the match Stewart Kay.
