Beechfield United Under 17's suffered a second successive home defeat following their latest Youth Bundesliga Division fixture. Beechy who recently held top spot in the table dropped down to third place after they lost 3-2 to Hale United Hurricanes. Trailing 1-0 at half time Beechy conceded a second goal just after the break but producing a determined fightback United got back level via goals from Man of the Match Wade Malone and Charlie Hilton. Totally against the run of play Hale United scored a third and match winning goal.
In the Bolton Bury and District League the Under 16's Tornadoes returned to winning ways thanks to a top-class all-round display and a 4-2 home win over Wheeley Alexandra. Keiran Alley (2)Harry Cottrill and Joseph Furlong scored the goals for the Tornadoes who went back to the top of the Section C table on goal difference.
Man of the Match Callum Lomax, Joe Cox and Aaron Gartley (2) fired in the goals for Beechy Under 15's Storm who were in action against Manchester Maccabi Broughton in the Salford and District League. The teams shared eight goals following this Division 1 fixture played on Sunday morning.
Following two postponements the Under 13's Storm managed to beat the weather and faced Bolton County Blades in their latest Bolton Bury and District Section A game. Beechy still occupy a mid table position after suffering a 4-2 defeat. Man of the Match Jack Thompson scored both goals.
Producing a superb all-round performance were the Under 12's Tornadoes (9v9) who were at home to Winton Tigers. In this Division 3 match there were hat-trick's for Ronan Courtney and Brandon Wabayi while Man of the Match Tom Williams scored two goals plus a goal for Alan Kay in a 9-2 victory.
The Under 12's Thunder (9v9) organised a friendly match with AFC Monton Thunder at Eccles College. In an highly entertaining contest Beechy created periods of top-quality play mixed in with some poor defending. On target with goals for United who lost the match was the team's Star Player Prince Iduyusi (hat-trick) Sebastian Higson and Jake O'Sullivan.
United's Under 12's Storm went out of the Manchester FA Youth Cup at the fourth round stage when they lost 2-1 away to Avro Juniors. According to Team Manager Sean Cox Beechy have produced some excellent performances throughout the competition and he praised all the players involved. Against Avro Joe Newton scored the Storm's consolation goal and Ben Howard was voted Man of the Match.
Overcoming difficult conditions at Beech Farm were the Under 11's Tornadoes (9v9) who's opponents in their Development Group Blue fixture were AFC Monton Dynamos. Beechy who were worthy winners by the odd goal in five secured the victory with goals from Adam Wood, Charlie Mulvenna and Player of the Match Raphael Silveira.
On an artificial surface the Under 10's Hurricanes entertained Bolton Lads Yellows in the Dragons Division. This Bolton Bury and District League encounter was packed full of good football and produced nine goals. On target for the Hurricanes who won the match were Josh Clough (2) Ole Kerwin, Dominic Roaden, Harley Mullen and Tom Worthington who shared the Man of the Match with Oliver Coles.
The Under 10's Typhoon who travelled to play Winton JFC Blues on a cold and foggy Saturday morning created an excellent performance in the Challenge Tournament. Beechy were ahead at the interval thanks to goals from Ronan Mullen and Daniel Hesketh. In the second half the Typhoon stepped up a gear and playing some scintillating football added three unanswered goals via Cole Winstanley and Man of the Match Harry Davies who scored his first goal for the team.
After making a bright start in their Challenge Tournament home game with Fives Athletic the Under 10's Storm fell behind to two quick goals and never recovered. Fives Athletic kept the pressure on the Storm and could have scored further goals but Beechy were rescued by some great defending from Man of the Match Reece James.
Rewarded for another impressive display were the Under 8's Hurricanes who celebrated a victory over AFC Monton Dragons. The teams met in the Challenge Tournament and United were fully deserved winners through goals from Lexi Hiles, Daniel Alexander, Josh Whitehead, Daniel Robinson and Lloyd Hiles.
Prestwich Junior Minions were the opposition when the Under 8's Storm kicked-off their latest Challenge Tournament fixture. Goalscorers for the Storm who were happy with their overall display were Man of the Match Harry Jones, Fletcher Jackson and Ellis Adamson.
For their last Challenge Tournament match the Under 8's Tornadoes met a very good Swinton Junior Pumas outfit. Ethan Harris and Brandon Booth netted goals for Beechy who unfortunately lost the tie. Named as Man of the Match was George Rowbotham.
