Away to East Manchester's Academy team on Saturday 4th August Beechfield United 1st Team celebrated their first pre-season victory. On a 4G Astroturf Pitch Beechy produced a top-class all-round display and won this friendly match 7-2. East Manchester kicked-off the contest and United's recent new signing Dale Beaumont playing as central defender made three vital interceptions as the hosts almost grabbed an early lead. A free kick by East Manchester's No10 dropped just over the crossbar and Beechy keeper Ethan Birds had to race to the edge of his area to boot the ball upfield as United were happy to soak up the pressure. There was a quick pace to the game and United gradually enjoyed more of the ball with Steven Erskine and Chris Ferris heavily involved in midfield. Beechy took the lead in the 10th minute when Jamie Sinnott sent an accurate long ball down the right flank and Jordan Jones-Waite despite a robust challenge from a East Manchester defender kept his balance and supplied a stunning finish for the opening goal. Play quickly moved to the other end of the pitch and Louis Duff produced a brilliant ball winning tackle to deny East Manchester's No11 a goal.

But despite playing with bags of confidence United somehow found themselves 2-1 down after conceding two goals in four minutes. East Manchester equalised via their No9 in the 19th minute then the hosts No17 gave his side the lead courtesy of an audacious lob over the keeper. East Manchester's lead was short lived after great link-up play between Jamie Sinnott and Louis Duff set-up Craig Massey who fired the ball home from close range for a deserved equaliser. Rob Lockley was a the heart of numerous well crafted counter-attacks down the left flank and the United man showed excellent skill when he created chances for both Craig Massey and Jamie Sinnott. Several attacking flurries from East Manchester developed on their left wing and producing some great defending was the ever reliable Mike Rogerson. Unselfish play by Jordan Jones-Waite carved out a goal scoring opportunity for Jamie Sinnott but United's No9 blasted the ball over the crossbar.

Beechy regained the lead thanks again to the long ball tactic when Rob Lockley angled a perfectly weighted pass onto Jordan Jones-Waite who produced another star strikers finish about ninety seconds before half time. United substitutes Carl Ravenscroft and Kurtis Lee were on the pitch for the start of the second half and both players were involved in a superb move with Jamie Sinnott that ended when the East Manchester keeper made a fine one-handed save. Briefly East Manchester put pressure on United's defensive trio of Mike Rogerson, Luke Johnston and Marcus Belcher who were always well organised. After Kurtis Lee missed a great chance he quickly redeemed himself supplying the pass that sent Jamie Sinnott racing clear before easily going round the keeper to put Beechy 4-2 up after fifty six minutes. Another cleverly disguised pass by Kurtis Lee set-up Craig Massey but his effort clipped the outside of the post and when United stepped up a gear they looked capable of scoring at the end of every attack.

Jordan Jones-Waite worked hard to win possession and force a corner and Craig Massey's flag kick was eventually headed past the keeper by Kurtis Lee for the fifth goal. Producing non-stop attacking play Beechy were soon rewarded with goal number six thanks to Man of the Match Jordan Jones-Waite who beat the offside trap and collecting Jamie Sinnott's through ball easily completed his hat-trick. East Manchester's No 15 was allowed to go on a mazy run from almost inside his own half but his shot on target was easily dealt with by Ethan Birds. Two minutes before the end of normal time Marcus Belcher wrapped up the scoring via a simple finish after the ball had bounced down off the crossbar following a free kick by Rob Lockley.
