- Junior Section Match Details 21st/22nd April 2018
In their Section B away game with Turton Tigers on Saturday Beechfield United Under 15's Tornadoes made a great start to the match when they took the lead through Jeanny Le Blanc. But Turton fought back and just after the quarter-hour mark equalised then the home side added two more goals and were 3-1 in front at half time. Beechy produced a much better performance in the second half and reduced the arrears with a goal from Ademola Olasanya and the Tornadoes continued to created more chances without further success. The referee awarded Turton a controversial penalty and from the resulting spot-kick the hosts went 4-2 up and that was the score when the whistle blew for full time.
Beechy Under 14's Tornadoes hit double figures in their home game against Bury Junior Panthers. Leading 3-0 at the break the Beechy lads totally dominated the second period and eventually won 10-1. In this Section E fixture the goals came via Billy Wadeson (4) Fernleys Davies (2) Max O'Brien (2) Mathew Bennett and Ellis Kenny. Team Manager Stuart O'Brien named Max O'Brien and Fernleys Davies as joint Man of the Match.
The Supplementary Cup in-house derby match between the Under 13's Thunder and Under 13's Tornadoes ended with a comfortable victory for Beechy Thunder. The Tornadoes were without a couple of influential players so this gave Thunder a big advantage but Thunder had to keep their discipline and defended well against some early Tornadoes attacks. Once Thunder's game clicked into gear they dictated the pace of the match with both Prince Idusuyi and Jacob Lacey notching first half hat trick's courtesy of some nice assists from William Whipday. In the second half the Tornadoes were slightly better organised but despite some quality defending were guilty of far too many mistimed tackles. Konstantin Hristova scored following a free kick and Ishor Bajgai and Dominic Lawton were both successful from the penalty spot. This 9-0 victory guaranteed Thunder their place in the final.
On Sunday the Under 13's Storm booked their spot at Ayrshire Road on final's day after they beat Manchester Maccabi Galaxy 3-0 in the Supplementary Cup B competition. Beechy's Man of the Match was Tom Cox and goals by Luke Carr (2) and Damion Broughton set-up the Storm for a possible winners trophy.
Luke Moss was the Under 12's Tornadoes (9v9) Star Player following the Division 2 home game with neighbours Moorside Rangers Yellow. Jack Fitton (2) Charlie Mulvenna (2) and Bradley Oliver (2) got the goals as Beechy secured a comfortable 6-0 win.
In their Development Group Red Division away game at Barr Hill Aces the Under 11's Storm (9v9) came back from two goals down at half time to force a respectable score draw. Man of the Match Caden Gibson netted both goals for Beechy.
The only disappointment regarding the Under 11's Typhoon (9v9) first half performance against Manchester Maccabi Phoenix was the number of missed chances. But Beechy were credited with a couple of goals by Joseph Bothamley and Daniel Hesketh and though Maccabi reduced the arrears some great defending from Milonga Mututa and Freddie Latham made sure United won this Supplementary Tournament F contest.
Also in the Supplementary Tournament F competition Beechy Under 11's Lightning (9v9) had a tough game against De La Salle Reds who won the tie. Kyle Stafford scored a consolation goal for Beechy who's Best Player was Mikey Sylvester.
After last Saturday's success in the cup the Under 10's Tornadoes were back in league action. At home to Ellesmere Park Beechy got off to a flying start with Joel Thorndyke putting the ball in the back of the visitors net within the first two minutes. Further goals for the Tornadoes quickly followed one by Oliver Percival and two from Finley Fairhurst. The second half was much more evenly balanced with Ellesmere Park playing some fine attacking football but the Tornadoes added more goals through Joel Thorndyke and Owen Hogben. There were several contenders for Man of the Match but the award went to Finley Fairhurst for an outstanding display in defence.
Moorside Rangers Yellow were the Under 10's Storm's opponents when the teams met for a Friendly Match at Beech Farm Playing Fields. Rangers won the game in which Damien Derbyshire was on target with the Storm's only goal while Tommy Harnell collected the Man of the Match trophy.
Man of the Match Joshua Whitehead and Sean Cosgrove scored the goals for the Under 9's Hurricanes who tasted victory against Barr Hill Clubs in the Development Group Green Division.
Making it five games unbeaten were the Under 9's Tornadoes. Oliver Nangle with a hat trick and Ebosele Oguname fired home the goals as the Tornadoes won their home game with Stretford Panthers. Throughout the season the Beechy lads have shown a vast improvement in their all-round ability and have been playing better football each week.
Playing their final Supplementary Tournament tie of the season were the Under 8's Tornadoes. Away to South Manchester Lions on Sunday Beechy who lost the game named George Wadeson Man of the Match.
After three recent disappointing results the Under 8's Storm bounced back with a brilliant performance in the Supplementary Tournament. In almost heatwave conditions the Beechy boys worked their socks off against AFC Monton Cobras. Both keepers Frankie Carter and Shay Winstanley produced superb displays and on target with goals for the victorious Storm team were Logan Holland, Riley Haney and Ronnie Pinckney-Thompson.
Goals galore were on the menu when the Under 8's Lightning met Manchester Maccabi Tigers in the Development Group Green Division. Deenraj Singh, Oliver Eckersley, Oscar Mather, Charlie Swift, Kaylon Salisbury and Broadie Mundy knocked in the goals as Beechy hit double figures. Voted Best Player was Kyle Tandy.
Beechy Under 7's Storm played Parkwyddn Hawks away in the Supplementary Tournament and came out winners of a match that included fifteen goals. Man of the Match Ryden Coward, Harry Wallis and Charlie Pugh scored the goals.
