Beechfield United UNDER 12's got ready for the new season with a couple of friendly matches. Following a 0-0 draw at home with Urmston Town the Beechy lads were away to Woolston Juniors a team from the Warrington Solway League. After twice taking the lead thanks to goals by Jason Cohen and Matthew Waite United didn't deserve to suffer a 3-2 defeat. All fifteen squad players put on superb displays. The UNDER 16's who had several new players on view met De La Salle who won this Friendly Match 8-3. Goals for United came via Scott Morton, Dean Quinn and Liam Cooper (penalty) (16th and 21st August 2004)

SUPER SUB STEVE GIVES TOWN ELL.

Substitute Steve Ellison's 85th minute strike earned Salford Beechfield United a 3-3 draw with Heywood Town in their first game of the new Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division season. United led 2-0 via debutants Ross Foley and Jason Smith but Butterworth pulled a goal back for the home side just before the interval. Poor defending by United allowed Sherlock to level the scores and Sturdley put Town in front in the 77th minute. However Ellison rescued United when he equalised following a corner. (28/8/2004)

The City of Salford Soccer League and Lancashire Amateur Football League season's officially kicked-off on Saturday 4th September 2004. Highlights from the opening day were :- Beechy UNDER 9s Storm made a winning start following their home game against neighbours Moorside Rangers Blue. Goals from Zak Asif (2) Joseph Dyson (2) Mason Shields and Harry Dolan secured a 6-0 victory. Charles Hanratty and Ben Gordon were the goalscorers for the UNDER 9s Tornados who drew 2-2 with Langworthy Juniors. The UNDER 10s Tornados beat Swinton Spartans 3-2 courtesy of goals by Ryan Liston (2) and Jake Vaughan. At home to Peel United the UNDER 11s beat Peel United 4-3 thanks to goals from Nathan Sands-Filer (2) Mark Raymond and Jake Howcroft. In the Senior Section Matt Little and Anthony Weall scored the goals for the 1ST TEAM who enjoyed a 2-0 home win over Heaton Mersey. The 2ND TEAM went down 3-1 to Old Ashtonians. Kev Bailey netted the consolation goal. Away at Whalley Range the 3RD TEAM kicked-off their season with a 4-3 victory thanks to goals from Lee Camilleri (2) and Scott Fisher (2).

Against near neighbours Farnworth Lions the Under 13s fully deserved their 4-3 home win. Tim McQueeney (2) Ben Rothwell and Thomas Standen scored the goals. Gary Bethall (2) Chris Ferris (2) and Rob Lowe got the goals for the UNDER 14s who enjoyed a 6-2 over Swinton Boys. In a closely fought contest the UNDER 15s beat Roach Dynamos 3-2 thanks to goals from Callum Wilkinson (2) and Andy Daley. The in-form UNDER 16s played Blackrod Town for the second successive Sunday and recovered from two goal's down to claim a 3-2 victory. Liam Cooper, Andrew Richardson and Dean Quinn were on target. (19/9/2004)

Beechy UNDER 11s cruised to an emphatic 11-1 win in midweek against Monton Amateurs. On target were Samuel Wiseman (3) Mark Raymond (2) Jake Howcroft (2) Billy Fisher (2) Nathan Sands-Filer and Jacob Jenks. Twenty four hours later goals from Mark Raymond and Samuel Wiseman secured United a 2-0 victory over Middleton Colts in the Preliminary Round of the MCFA Youth Cup. (25th and 26th September 2004)

Involved in a nine goal thriller against Newton Heath were United's 3RD TEAM. Beechy looked down and out when they trailed 4-1 but they produced a spirited fightback and won the match 5-4. Scott Fisher (hat-trick) Steve Allen and Lee Camilleri were the goalscorers. In a Storm verses Tornados Under 8's derby game Kane Rowley, Dean Davis, Callum Ring, Joseph Crossley, Sam Berry and Jack Berry scored goals for the Storm. (2/10/04)

In the North Bury Junior League the UNDER 13s staged a superb comeback to win 4-3 at Puma Hawks. Liam Daly (2) Tim McQueeney and James Smith netted after the lads had trailed 3-0. (16/10/2004)

The 1ST TEAM played their first ever Manchester Challenge Trophy match against Wythenshawe Town and celebrated a 4-2 victory. Following a goalless first half United went ahead in the 50th minute through Aaron Dennis. Town equalised and though Beechy regained the lead via a close range finish from Mike Gould a second equalising goal from Town took the game into extra time. Aaron Dennis was on target again when he put United back in front and the win was guaranteed with the goal of the game after a move involving Anthony Weall and Matt Little who completed the scoring. (23/10/2004)

Under the guidance of Manager Lee Wallis the UNDER 7s Storm had made a flying start to their season in the City of Salford Soccer League. Beechy played some excellent football in the match against Swinton FC and were rewarded with goals from William Davidson, Callum Warner, Callum Fisher, Ben Oldroyd and Lewis Rigby. (23/10/2004)

With current Lancs and Cheshire Premier Division leaders Heaton Mersey on cup duty the 1ST TEAM took full advantage to narrow their lead at the top to just one point. But despite remaining unbeaten so far this season United only managed a mediocre performance as they earned a 2-1 home win over Old Stoconians. Man of the Match Aaron Dennis gave Beechy an early lead whistle they held as the whistle went for half time. Shortly after the restart Old Stoconians got back on level terms with a well deserved equaliser via Russ Graham and United had to work hard to stay in the game. It appeared that a draw would be a likely result until Matt Little became United's instant hero when he scored a last gasp winner in the 87th minute. Undefeated after nine games and producing some superb displays were the UNDER 9s Storm. The team latest success was a 4-0 home win against Monton Stripes thanks to goals from Sam Newton, Joseph Dyson, Harry Dolan and Jack Sands-Filer. (30/10/2004)

A brilliant hat-trick by Danny Rowcroft was the highlight of the 2ND TEAMS 3-3 with Rochdalians as United put on a super show when they played the current leaders of Division A. In Division E there was a surprise defeat for the 3RD TEAM who went down 4-3 at Burnage Metro. Darren Bates, Aaron Tompkins and Carl Said hit the target for United. (6/11/2004)

United YOUTH TEAM made it five straight victories and 37 goals scored so far this season when they hammered Timperley Villa 8-2. The players on target were Alex Brogan (3) Brad Loughrey (2) Rob Monaghan (2) and Ryan Farrelly. In their MCFA Youth Cup 1st Round tie away at AFC Urmston Meadowside the UNDER 14s should have hit double figures but they were happy with their 8-1 victory. Finding the back of the net were Rob Lowe (5) Daniel Corker (2) and Daniel Pennington. (7/11/2004)

A Cabaret Night was held at Monton House Hotel on Saturday 13th November 2004. Tickets cost £12.50p each.

Four of United's 1ST TEAM players were in the the Lancashire and Cheshire League's squad for the Inter League fixture against the Lancashire Amateur League at the LFA's ground in Leyland on Wednesday 24th November 2004. Over 2,700 players were registered with the Lancs and Cheshire League so this was a marvellous achievement for Luke Mather, Mike Gould, Anthony Rice and Anthony Weall.

Recent performances by the UNDER 9s Tornados had been very impressive according to Manager Paul Russell. In a 1-1 draw with Langworthy Juniors the team created some bright attacking ideas and defended superbly with Ashley Sykes scoring United's goal and James Hickman being voted Best Player. A 3-1 defeat at De La Salle began with United conceding two soft goals but the Beechy lads settled down and created some fabulous soccer though a missed penalty didn't help matters. Ashley Sykes was on target again and after the match the De La Salle manager praised the Tornados for their excellent sportsmanship and team spirit. (27/11/2004)

The FIRST TEAM went top of the Premier Division after a powerful performance secured an emphatic 7-2 away win at Newton Heath. Recovering from going a goal down United dominated the match with Jason Smith producing a brilliant display in midfield. The goals came via Aaron Dennis (hat-trick) Matt Little, Luke Mather, Anthony Weall plus an own goal. (4/12/2004)

United's had four Junior Section team's involved in Round 2 of the Manchester FA Youth Cup. The UNDER 12s who were drawn at home against Stretford Victoria scored goal's via Daniel Kelly and John O'Callaghan but United went out of the competition after suffering a 3-2 defeat. Goals by Daniel Corker (4) Rob Lowe (2) Daniel Pennington (2) and Sam Cullen earned the UNDER 14s an emphatic 9-2 home victory against Ashton United Sports Club. There was no joy for the UNDER 15s at Woodbank FC. Andy Daley and Luke Martin were on target but United lost the tie 4-2. The UNDER 16s celebrated after beating Timperley Villa 5-2 away thanks to a superb all-round performance and goals by Scott Morton (2) Matthew Pithers, Jamie Royle and Liam Cooper. (4/12/2004)

In the North Bury Junior League Beechy UNDER 12 produced a top-class display against Brandlesholme Warriors and celebrated a 6-3 victory. This result kept United in third place in the league table. Goalscorers were Daniel Kelly (3) John O'Callaghan (2) and Mason Pithers. The high flying YOUTH TEAM remained unbeaten in the Timperley and District League but they had to work hard before securing a 5-4 win over Stretford Victoria. Despite their inability to defend United always found goalscoring easy and demonstrated the art courtesy of Ryan Farrelly, Alex Brogan, Kyle Rogers, Pat Fitzpatrick and Tom Staff (who's 30 yard volley was a candidate for Goal of the Season) (18th and 19th December 2004)

On Christmas Eve 2004 former Beechy lad Danny Livesey signed for Carlisle United, who were then in the Football League Conference.

On a day when waterlogged pitches caused several postponements around the area the 1ST TEAM took over at the top of the Premier Division thanks to a 1-0 win. United's Lancashire and Cheshire League away game at Old Stoconians was played in atrocious conditions and Beechy defended brilliantly against a strong wind in the first half. Matt Little was a tireless worker in midfield as Stoconians enjoyed the majority of possession. The vital winning goal came in the 84th minute when a long kick from keeper Andy Ferris was met by substitute Anthony Weall who coolly slotted the ball into the net. This was a great result for United which keeps them firmly on the path for honours. (8/1/2005)

Following a four week break due to bad weather and Xmas/New Year holidays normal service in the Junior Section was resumed on the 15th January 2005. Ashley Sykes was an hat-trick hero for the UNDER 9s Tornados who beat Moorside Blue 3-0. The UNDER 10s Storm played a Friendly Match against Salford Juniors and were worthy 4-1 winners thanks to goals from Aaron Drummond (2) Matt Holloway and Callum Howells. A solitary goal by Thomas Standen gave the UNDER 13s a 1-0 home victory over North Walkden.

Despite going a goal down United's YOUTH TEAM quickly got into their rhythm and gave a superb display of attacking play and clinical finishing against Benchill Celtic. Tom Staff (3) Ryan Farrelly (2) Pat Fitzpatrick, Rob Monaghan, Brad Loughrey and Kyle Rogers were on target as Beechy cruised to a emphatic 9-1 win. (06/02/2005)

Producing a first-class performance in the North Bury Junior Football League were the UNDER 12s who retainded third place in the Section B table after they beat Dunscar JFC 6-0. Matthew Waite (3) Daniel McLoughlin, Matthew Heywood and John O'Callaghan scored the goals. (26/2/2005)

There was a further setback for Salford Beechfield United in their quest for honours when they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by mid-table team Newton Heath. United who were almost at full strength never really got out of bottom gear and far too many players failed to produce a worthwhile performance and only defender Stuart Wharton received any praise from his manager. Throughout the contest it was Beechy who had the best of numerous scoring opportunities on offer but on this occasion some woeful finishing let them down. United's 2ND TEAM took their unbeaten run to eight games when they enjoyed a 1-0 win over South Manchester. It was Martin Blackshaw who guaranteed victory with a first half spot-kick and helped Beechy continue they climb up the L&C League's Division A table. Also claiming a 1-0 success were the 3RD TEAM who remained in second place in Division E. In the second half it was a great run by Darren Bates which set-up the opportunity for Scott Fisher to score the winner against Old Stretfordians. (12/03/2005)

Beechfield United UNDER 10s Storm Manager Shane Flanagan said his team had created their best display of the season in the City of Salford Soccer League after they had achieved a 4-3 away victory against Parkwyddn Juniors. Conrad Lee (2) and Matt Holloway scored the goals. Against a very physical Wythenshawe Town outfit the UNDER 14s overcame their opponents crude tactics and had the last laugh. Goals by Daniel Corker (2) and Rob Lowe (2) earned Beechy a 4-2 home win. (9th and 10th April 2005)

Retaining their place at the top of Division A in the Timperley and District Junior League were the YOUTH TEAM who annihilated opponents Wilmslow Sports 13-2. Leading 8-1 at half-time United continued to have 85% possession and the Wilmslow keeper was forced to work overtime. Goals for Beechy came via Alex Brogan (3) Ryan Farrelly (3) Rob Monaghan (2) Daniel Eckersley, John Hinds, Oliver Dunn, Pat Fitzpatrick and Brad Loughrey. Despite a below-par performance goals from Callum Wilkinson and Luke Martin were enough earn the UNDER 15s a 2-1 home win over local rivals Moorside Rangers. (17/4/2005)

In their final fixture United's 3RD TEAM held a 4-2 lead against Old Stretfordians but during the last twenty minutes Beechy were guilty of some poor defending and slumped to a 5-4 defeat. Aaron Dennis (2) Darren Bates and Scott Fisher got the goals. The UNDER 13s ended their season in the North Bury Junior League with a 4-4 draw at home to Horwich Town. Despite being ahead only once in the game United looked very impressive throughout and scored four quality goals courtesy of Thomas Standen, Ben Rothwell, Lewis Brookes and Lewis Holland. (7/5/2005)

Beechfield United's 1ST TEAM enjoyed a 4-1 home winover Oldham Albion that guaranteed them runner's-up spot in the Premier Division of the Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur Football League. Jason Smith, Steve Ellison, Anthony Weall and Neil McLoughlin (penalty) got the goals. (Team Manager - Jim Rice) (11/5/2005)

United's Premier Division record was as follows P.26 W.16 L.7 D 3 F72 A 42 PTS 55 Beechfield United 2ND TEAM finished in sixth place in Division A while the A TEAM secured 3rd place in Division E.

In the Lennox Cup final (Bury and Radcliffe Junior League) the UNDER 15s found themselves being the victim of some poor refereeing decisions and were beaten 3-1 by Walshaw Sports. United's goalscorer was Callum Wilkinson while Tom Tootal was voted Man of the Match. (Team Manager - Andy Wilson)

Rob Monaghan (5) Tom Staff (4) Ryan Farrelly (2) Mike Allen, John Hinds and Kyle Rogers scored the goals for the YOUTH TEAM (U17s) who ended their championship winning season in the Timperley and District Junior League with a 14-0 victory over Timperley Villa. Goalscorers were Alex Brogan (hat-trick) and Ryan Farrelly while both Manager Brendan Loughrey and Assistant Dave Allen made an appearance during the match and afterwards issued a personal thank you to the hosts for their hospitality and friendship.
