In the Manchester Saturday Morning League United's SATURDAY MORNING SENIOR TEAM faced a tough opening First Division game on Saturday 9th September when they travelled to play AFC Middleton. Damon Whitbread was voted Best Player and Scott Foulds, Wes Pierce and Dave Harrison were on target for United who suffered a 5-3 defeat. On Sunday 3rd September BEECHFIELD UNITED LADIES began their fifth successive season in the Greater Manchester Womens League away to Bolton Lads and Girls but Beechy ended up on the wrong end of a 3-1 score line. Seven days later Beechy played Bolton Wanderers Ladies at Salford Sports Village and thanks to goals from Becky McDonald, Debbie Wright and Natasha Herity celebrated a 3-2 victory. For the second successive Saturday morning there were just two official league games played in the Junior Section.
